Nice trade for the Rockets.  The first round pick is currently set to be the Suns’ 2011, but it is lottery protected.  However, if the picks ends up in the lottery then the Rockets will instead get the 2011 first round pick the Suns acquired from the Magic.

So regardless if the Suns make the playoffs or not, the Rockets will be getting a 2011 pick.

I absolutely love this deal for both teams. Great trade for Phoenix. Brooks gives them a spark off the bench they haven’t had, a shooter, and someone who can play with Nash effectively in that system. Brooks is very excited about going to Phoenix and I expect him to be revitalized.

Also, a great trade for Houston. Dragic gives them a more functional PG, someone who is cheaper and has an expiring contract. Also, they gain a lottery protected draft pick, and even in a draft some consider weak, that’s a valuable piece to have. Both teams are helped with this deal, very excited to see Brooks with the Suns.
