It’s been 25 years since the last quadruple-double made by David Robinson in 1994.

Some people might ask why no one has ever achieved such thing since then, but the answer is easy, it’s all about PACE.

No mistery to understand as well why Westbrook is about to average a triple-double for 3 consecutive seasons…

And it happens that this season the pace has just reached a maximum (100.1) not seen in the last… ¡¡ 40 years !! since the season 1988-89 (100.6), so we can officially say that we are back into the 80’s !

In fact this year the league has made a jump of almost 3 possessions/per 48min, a leap not seen since the league started to change the rules in 1998-1999, where the league experienced a massive leap of 4 poss./48min.

Since 1974 when blocks&steals started to be registered, only 4 players have had one of those rarities: N.Thurmond, A.Robertson, H.Olajuwon and D.Robinson.

Out of those 4, the last 3 of them were made after the all-star game between the months of February&March which is when players really start to carburize, so I think that it is safe to say that considering how wild the pace is right now and therefore the stats, we are about to witness the next 4druple-double before the season ends.

Here are my top 5 candidates:

    1. Draymond Green

    2. Giannis Antetokounmpo

    3. Russell Westbrook

    4. Anthony Davis (if he plays more than 25min)

    5. Lonzo Ball (if he ever plays) if not Rudy Gobert

i would think russ has the best chance since he basically gets triple doubles on the daily and typically guards the opposing team’s pg.  one of these days, maybe he’ll get 10 steals.

If the Hawks keep going to 4 overtimes I can see Trae Young racking up a bunch of steals.

I’m convinced this forum is filled with a bunch of filthy LA and Boston fans smh, Ben is nearly averaging a Triple Dip in his 2nd Season, can simply fill up a stat sheet and he’s not in the OP’s list of potential Quad/Dub Club Members? Yet Lonzo Trash Bag is? AD? Not this year pal!

Russell, Giannis, Draymond, Ben and Joel would be on my Top 10 Quad/Dub club, AD, LBJ and a few others would be on this list…

If someone is going to get a quad double, I think it has to come with blocks instead of steals and that leaves out any guards. Who are the players capable of 10 or mroe blocks. Mitchell Robinson. In the next five years, I’m going with Michell Robinson. The blocks come natural to him and he’ll have games of 13 or more blocks in the future. He already has the points and rebounds. If he develop into a better passer, he’s my pick. The reason The reason I say no to Anthony Davis is because if it has not happened yet, it won’t happen at all. He’s still the best player in the world, but I just don’t see it happening with him.

     THE ANSWER IS 3 POINTERS

How can centres get blocked shots when so many kids these days are jacking up 3s.

    For example david robinson spurs in 1990 to 6997 total shots. 6771 x 2 and only 226 x 3’s

    Last years Rockets took 6906 total shots. 3436 x 2 and a massive 3470 x 3’s.

If centres get blocks for the quad double their chances are cut in half. 80s-90s era get 6771 chances, where as these days their chances are cut in half with only 3436 chances.

The thing about quadruple double is that it is it is easier for big men to get blocks than guards to get steals, while it is tougher for big men to get assists tha guards who can easily get 10 rebounds in comparison.
Need a lot of things to go right for a player like Giannis to get it, probably he has the biggest chance since it is easy for him to get the usual 3 double digit (assists/rebounds/pts) like a guard but has size and instinct to make 10 blocks

Jokic sprang to mind given his insane assist numbers for a big man but he isn’t really a prolific blocker so this sort of performance may be beyond him.

To get 10 steals per game is very hard, to put it into context MJ never achieved the 4druple double and he lead the league 3 times in steals and ironically in his 2nd best year statistically in steals he averaged 8apg, 8rpg and the little matter of 32.5ppg.

On February 17, 2017 Draymond Green had the first triple double in NBA without points (12 rebs, 10 asts, 10 stls + 5 blks and 4 pts), so my bet is on him.

Btw it puzzles me so much that Green was just two 3 pointes away from an absolute historical night (quadruple double + 5×5)
