Meditated StatesParticipantLooks like his game has transfered well to the Pro’s. I TOLD YOU SO. Bobcats should have taken him instead of Henderson. I thought if you were looking for a 2guard or 3 in the first 15 picks this kid should have been gone no later than 15 IMO. Shoots lights out and is already proving the “he just jumps high and is not athletic” argument false. I think yall have seen the dunks in the lane and the acrobatic lay ins through traffic.

Lemons4LifeParticipantI guess it’s good that you told us so, but I never remember those things, but Budinger is doing pretty good with Houston. He kinda looks like Melo, but he only shoots and plays defence.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI’ve always liked Chase Budinger’s game. He has the total package: size, athleticism, shooting ability, and he’s an underrated passer. The only thing that was really holding him back was his aggressiveness. It seemed like he never really wanted to take over a game during college, usually deferring to a teammate when the game was on the line. He might not ever be a very good defender, but he shouldn’t be bad as long as he gives his best effort on that side of the floor. His ball-handling ability needs work as well, but that can come with time.

llperezI’m pretty sure almost everyone on here had him as a top 20 pick and were very surprised to see him drop like he did. I always said he was a safe pick because he can shoot, pass, and is very atheltic. He might not ever be anything great, but he was a very safe pick with little risk involved. The GM’s overthought themselves on that one.

JoeWolf1Not to mention he is the prototypical size for a 2 guard in today’s game at 6’7” 220. I had him at 25 to OKC, but yeah, a real good pick for Houston.

llperezI thought New Orleans should have taken him instead of Collison. I like collison a lot, but Buddinger would have helped them more. He might be better then MoPete right now.

RickyRubio9ParticipantBeen watching alot of him lately and I knew he had it in him…He’s doing great and I like how he runs the floor. Our second unit has established a nice chemistry, especially him and Lowry. All these back doors, off screens, and occasional drives where he ends it with a dunk is impressive though. We really need this though, he took over that Jazz game on Monday night. Budinger was a steal and I hated how some users on here said the Rockets were dumb for spending 6 Million on 3 second rounders. Llull is an overseas project and Taylor is a project, but Budinger has come in right away and blown many away. Still looking for a nickname though, if any thoughts. 🙂 Or a nickname for Landry, Lowry, and Budinger. All of whom come off the bench. Also, Rockets probably would’ve beat L.A if he had played because it takes some pressure off Ariza who tried alittle too hard in my mind although he hit that big 3 late in the game to square things up. Don’t forget, he has a great mentor in battier to help him start his career off

JoeWolf1I said C-Budd after he got drafted, haha. Yeah, the Rockets amaze me every year when they get a group of guys who aren’t big names and really play good basketball as a team. Back to when they rolled of 26 straight a few years ago without Yao and Mutumbo playing out of his mind for a 40 year old. To last season without T-Mac down the stretch to the start of this season, and you are right Budinger stepped right in and is playing with a real good, fun team to watch.

JoeWolf1it was impressive regardless, for someone who doesn’t follow Houston all that closely I knew it was over 20

dmo21Participanta good nickname for budinger would be the red rocket, but to bad that one is already taken by Matt Bonner… it fits Budinger better because they are both red haired shooters, but Chase is actually a rocket too..

RUDEBOYI thought he was the 3rd best freshman in the nation in 2006-2007 behind Oden & Durant..But he never took over games..He seemed like he was destined for superstardom..But he regressed..I felt he should’ve been a top 15 pick…Scouts thought he’ll be a bust or a star…Some compared his game to Luke Jackson or Brent Barry..Others said he only needed to go to a team that fit his style of play…Houston got a steal….

quincey hodgesim not sure if the rockets would have beat l.a if he would have played..you put him in you take out ariza and houston doesnt score as much or get the defense from chase that they got from ariza…..but as far as chase so far he is playing very well and seems liek a very good off the bench player
