d-grizzlyParticipantI don’t follow college closely, but who should the grizz take at the 4 for next draft?
From what i’m reading on this site anyway…davis is a weaker amar’e… motiejunas is a young dirk…favors is compared to josh smith, aldrich is compared to lopez and lafrentz, and monroe is compared to the late years of webber.
I don’t know these players well enough to even think if these comparisons are accurate. I also think if the grizz get the chance for johnny wall, do it.
So which PF should the grizz go for to complete a young starting 5?
ed davis?
Donatas Motiejunas?
Derrick Favors?
Cole Aldrich?
maybe monroe?0 - Posted on: Thu, 10/29/2009 - 9:35am #224741

d-grizzlyParticipantif this comparisons are somewhat true, and the critics are accurate, either ed davis or motiejunas look to be the targets. Passing up the possibility of the second coming of dirk is insane. they say this kid can shoot and get physical in the paint. for ed davis, if he put on some weight, then they compare him to amar’e, if he stays about the same or puts on just a lil’ weight, they compare him to bosh…sounds kinda messy

lalailaParticipantMonroe is my favourite for grizzlies, he can pass very very well, and he is unselfish, next to Gay&O.J. he woul be nice

JoeWolf1I have serious doubts on whether they will be able to keep Rudy Gay. I think Monroe or Favors would be more beneficial because they can play some 3. I also think Carroll and Arthur could effectively play the 4 for them next year. In addition, with Iverson’s age and Conley’s rough start, drafting a pg could be good for them too.

d-grizzlyParticipantrudy’s a ristricted FA, although i do also think it’s gonna be hard to keep him. If he shows everybody this year why he’s so good, it will attract a lot of teams to bid for him. Then again, if he shows everybody that he’s allstar material, i don’t believe the grizz would let him get drawn away to another team.

lalailaParticipantI don’t believe Knicks will get LeBron so, I think they could try to get Bosh&Gay, nice combo?

Lemons4LifeParticipantGood question D-Grizzly. First off Ed Davis-Amar’e, whoever made that up is completely crazy and insane, not to mention Davis hasn’t had any surgeries. Also, just because a foreign PF that can shoot comes over doesn’t meen it’s always a Dirk. Ok, back to the question I think the Grizzlies should get a PG like White. I think the Raptors could make a deal for Bosh by sending Conley, Haddai, and maybe a draft pick. Not to mention A.I. will probably be on the move after his stint with the Grizz. So, they would have a lineup somewhat like this:
White
Mayo
Gay
Bosh
GasolThat lineup looks actually pretty good to me.

JoeWolf1There is a long time before the draft, guys. John Wall hasn’t secured the #1 pick yet. There is a long season ahead of him, and depending on team needs I think Favors could go #1 too, and others are in the mix at this point. Wall could be around at 2 or 3, being the #1 prospect in October doesn’t always mean your are going to be the #1 prospect in June.

butidonthavemoneyEverybody knows they will draft Willie Warren.
PG: Willie Warren
SG: OJ Mayo
SF: Rudy Gay
PF: Zach Randolph
C: Marc GasolOn the first offensive possession, in the first preseason game, the team will explode and rupture the space-time continuum and send the Memphis Grizzlies six-million years into the past. There would have been plenty of food available for the entire team to live on for the rest of their lives but Zach Randolph got very demanding and hid all the food in his fat rolls. DeMarr Carroll tried to kamakazie himself into Randolph, but he got sucker-punched. Conley was the first to die of starvation. Willie Warren stunk into the woods and ate his corpse. He felt no remorse because now his competition was eliminated, and he was quite delicious. Marc Gasol was very calm and tried to keep the team together but he failed miserably. Besides Randolph and Warren, Hasheem Thabeet was the only other player with access to food. He could reach up the tall trees and get the fruit that nobody else could reach. He stayed well-norished and healthy while Randolph was getting fatter and Warren’s cannibalism was consuming his life. He wanted to eat Randolph next. He looked so plump and tender. He didn’t think about it, but if he successfully ate Zach Randolph, the rest of the team, including the sick and dying Rudy Gay, would have access to food. He began plotting the greatest plan in the history of the world (back then)…
Next week, on Grizzlies in the Past…
OJ Mayo has to fight a T-Rex. The Warren/Randolph showdown reaches a dramatic conclusion. And Sam Young reveals a dark secret…
