    MAGIC:

Dwight Howard didn’t do alot of low post scoring, but that was because they chose to foul him more often than not. He is still a beast, but he’s a little stiff with all the muscles he has up top. Expect a big year anyway, he’ll be an MVP candidate (by bold prediction was that he’d win it).

I called Jameer Nelson the most overrated player in basketball last year, and even though he’s good he’s not an all-star. He’s effected some by his size, but he’s a solid player who’s still talented on offense.

Ryan Anderson has a weird looking jumper, but boy is it effective. He can’t do anything else though really, and even though he’s a decent rebounder, Howard and Bass took alot of his boards and I don’t see that changing.

Vince Carter and Pietrus were good, but Vince looks like a good fit for them especially. Pietrus is the corner shooter and defender like last yr.

JJ Redick couldn’t buy a bucket. He’s not that good but, he’ll make some decent plays on D were he sneaks up on you. But nothing straight up.

Gortat is VASTLY overpaid. He’s not very talented at all, but he is a good vertical athlete. He can’t change directions or anything, but if he’s running in a straight line and jumping straight up, he’s pretty good haha.

Anthony Johnson has no neck. lol. It’s pretty weird.

Matt Barnes is everything Pietrus is.

    BULLS:

Why wasn’t John Salmons this good when he played for Philly? UGHH…He’s a good all-around player and he’s a great great defender though. I just never knew he would have this good an offensive game.

Hinrich is still the swiss army knife for them. He defended everyone from the PG’s to the SF’s of the Magic. He’s a good player and an excellent backup for Rose as he could be a starter for quite a few NBA squad’s.

Jannero Pargo is a good scorer. Not on Ben Gordon’s level, but he can be a stopgap and provide some big scoring nights. He is a better passer and defender than Gordon though.

Luol Deng is a good mid-range player still, almost automatic, but he took some bad shots and didn’t look as good as he did against the Jazz a weeks back. Neither did James Johnson, he was ineffective this game.

Tyrus Thomas was OK, but his basketball IQ is still low and he still relies on his athleticism too much. He hasn’t improved much at all since last year.

Taj Gibson is a catch and finisher player down low and a good post defender, but as I’ve said, he plays too similar to Noah and Thomas to more than limited PT.

Joakim Noah won’t score alot at all and he’ll get pushed around on D and for rebounds at times, but he’s a good hustle player. I’d keep him instead of Tyrus Thomas.

i watched a little of it switching back and forth between the dodger game. I thought Carter looked good. Dwight is still missing ft’s. Barnes made some plays. Hinrich was the go to guy down the stretch and made some huge baskets.

But from what i saw, the announcers were hating non stop on the magic. I have to assume they were the Bulls announcers, because they were talking trash about the magic players and were crapping on the refs on the calls that went against the bulls, even when the calls were correct. Ryan Andersen missed a 3, and they were saying how he can’t shoot and there is a reason he keeps getting left open. Then i see the box score says he was 5-9(4-7 on 3’s)

By the way, iggy, keep on doing these kind of things. Love the way you scout the players in the game. Biased announcers are somewhat annoying IMO… Like FSN Indiana announcers, George Blaha is biased somewhat, Tommy Heinsohn looks to spit on every ref that gives a call that goes against the C’s, and many more to mention… But that’s their job… I guess…

jamer nelson not a allstar?..lol..that man was giving everyone work before getting hurt lat year while being a big part of the magic being good(was the second best and some night best player on a team with 4 all star caliber players)..hes underratted by fans who either havnt seen him or are more into flashyness then production..come on people we have to stop looking at the way some of these players playing in the preseaon like they are gonna be doing the same thing in the regular seaon when the vets in most caes will get more time, more shot, and alot more chances to mess up..this is good for preseason talk but dont put too much into it as far as what will happen in the regular season

jameer absolutley deserved that all-star game last year. But I think that might have been his prime. He was never even close to being an all-star before that and I’m thinking he might never be again. Not that he will be bad or anything, but that was his career year and now he will be like a 15 ppg, 7 ast, solid pg, but nothing special. That’s just my guess.

thats because he got better and worked harder on his game..since he made it will he was 26 and not 30 something i think he can sustane it since hes still in the eairly prime of his career..his jumper gets better every year and last year he was lights out..i see another all star year in him esspecially since the magic will continue to win

    is lights out SOB
he’s one of the smaller PGs that can drive (200 lbs)
    or shoot it from outside

very good player but IDK about his defense against lineups with
    bigger guards

Iggy, i’m not doubting what you say and i usually agree with a lot of what you say, but are you sure James Johnson played last night. THought he was out with an injury? i was half sleeping when i watched the replay but i dont recall him being out on the floor.

I also think the addition of Brandon Bass is going to have a bigger impact than most people think, just a solid fundamental player.

That was why he played so uninspired…he played because I remembered him missing a jumper and it going out of bounds.

Oh and I forgot to add Bass in the scouting report…he’s good, but Anderson is a better fit as he can spread the floor and play down low if need be. Bass is a starter depending on the situation, but I think Anderson will get more time altogether.

I can barely watch Bulls games on WGN. Their announcers are obnoxiously biased. I understand some favoritism, but they take it WAY too far.
