Rose has more poise and is more of leader. You can’t just go off of stats but Westbrook does have more raw talent and could become better than Rose down the road. He aint there yet though.

look, I’m a die hard UCLA fan and I hated Rose for knocking my bruins out of the final four. I have every reason to be biased towards Westbrook on this issue. With that said, I’m taking Rose over Russell in a heartbeat. And I’m not basing that off stats or what position they play naturally or anything. I’m basing that off watching them play on the court. Rose has the ability to takeover games and be the a franchise player and potentially the best pg in the league in the very near future. I can not honestly say I feel the same about Westbrook, as good as he is.

– Westbrook is not just as good at point guard as Rose. The jury is still out on Westbrook even being a point guard. I think he’s a shoot first athletic slasher learning to become a playmaker.

– You can’t always use team success to judge a player, but you shouldn’t ignore it either. Rose has had success at every level and he’s usually the main reason why. You can’t ignore that.

– Westbrook averaged 5.3 assists per game, but he gave the ball back to the other team 3.3 times per game.

– Westbrook averaged 15.3 points per game, but only made .398% of his shots. That’s laughable. Rose averaged 16.8 points per game and made .475% of his shots.

I don’t even think Westbrook is explosively more athletic than Rose. They just have two different styles of play. Westbrook is live wire… He plays out of control. Rose is completely the opposite. He plays in control and is patient.

– I watched Oden with my own two eyes his entire high school career and dude is a GREAT talent. I wasn’t even a fan of his team either.

See There’s A Difference Between TALENT and RAW TALENT, And Yes Westbrook has MORE Raw Talent Than Rose, But Right Now Rose Is More Polished And Better.

Talent- Natural Ability Of Superior Quality, A Person Having Such Ability.

Raw Talent- Powerfully Impressive Talent.

Rose Is the Superior Of The Two Right Now Because As I Said He Is More Polished And Understand The Point Guard Position Right Now, But If Westbrook Can Polish His Game Then He Can Surpass Rose, Or Maybe Not, But I Dont Expect Rose To Just Stay The Same Player So It’s Hard To Say.

Only time will tell who will actually be better, and this debate will likely be like the Paul-WIlliams debate, whos better between them? Its a toss up to most, but I say Rose..
For this.. I say Westbrook, give me negatives, disagree I dont care, But I personally think Westbrook is and will be the better player down the road.

Westbrook doesn’t have more talent! He does have slightly more explosive athletic ability though. That doesn’t mean he’s more talented as a player. I don’t see how anyone could think he’s better than Rose, I mean he’s not at all. I don’t think he’ll ever be either.

The Only Negatives I Have With Westbrook Is He Is Out of Control ALOT, Rose is Rarely Out of Control, That’s Why Westbrook Averages 3.3 TO’s But Then Again Rose Averaged 2.5, But Rose is Just More Poised And Smoother,Like Someone Else posted Westbrook Is A Livewire, Just Wild LOL But A Good Player.

And BTW Westbrook Is More Explosive Than Rose Just For The Record.

I just think it’s crazy when you compare where they came from. Westbrook was hardly recruited out of highschool and averaged like 3 points in 8 minutes as a freshman at ucla. Rose was supposed to be the next big thing right outta highschool. The fact that we are even comparing them right now is a credit to how much Russell has improved.

Derrick Rose has some of the most ridiculous hesitation moves I’ve ever seen. He seriously has elite change-of direction skills.
