Blair should definitely lead in rookies rebound per minute and may even be in the top 15 or player rebound per minute.

Quincey, you are once again pointing out why I said immediately after the draft that the majority of NBA GMs are stupid. Check out the clunkers that were taken ahead of Blair who wasn’t selected until the 37th pick if I remember correctly. It’s hard to believe all of them passed on a guy like Blair.

They never learned their lesson when they passed on Paul Milsap a couple of years ago. Rebounding is critical to the success of any team.

I’ve been really impressed with Blair in the preseason and i know Gibson is playin well for my Bulls, but i would’ve rather taken Blair. If he plays his way into the rotation of the spurs (this guy is much better than Ian Mihami and Matt Bonner imo) then i wouldnt be shocked if he leads the rookies in rebounds or is atleast behind Griffin, and averages close to a double double. If given 20 minutes per game then i can see something like 8ppg and 8rpg

is not a double double machine. He has never in his career averaged 10 or more boards. And Blair is the man, the wolves should have taken him instead of one the 4 point guards they picked. He’s a craig smith type player, but better.

Blair is BEAST! he is this year’s Kevin Love(and now it looks like he grabs all the boards from Big Al) give his 25min for DeJuan and he will get those 11ppg 9rpg (if not better) and playing ofr championship caliber team , Blair would have big big chances to win ROY..it would be cool, I like this fella

lol..yeah i am pretty critical of rookies..but thats how it should be..make em earn praise and so far this guy has earned it..rtbt i think he shoul have been picked earlier but i can kinda understand why teams would be a lil scared about a player who has no acls…like a player who was a head case in highschool then is amodel citizen in college but teams stil are a lil wary of them

dejuan blair is a competitor for ROY for sure, sam young has also been doing quite well and they were both second round picks, i suppose it gives them motivation to prove people that they should have been a higher pick.

Quincey, I think the ACL issue is a legitimate concern if you’re selecting in the first 10 to 20 positions in the draft. But once you get past draft choice 20, we’re talking almost 2nd round caliber, or a European player who won’t be coming over for a couple of years.

So once you get past draft position number 20, concerns about the ACL are no longer that relevant because anyone you take from this point on is usually somewhat of a gamble for a variety of reasons. I still cannot believe some of the players who were chosen ahead of him.

If I remember correctly, a lot of people on this website, including me, had Blair going in the top 15, and possibly even late in the top ten. I have to tell you Quincey, Blair going @ #37 was far and away the biggest shocker of the draft for me.
