td8118ParticipantWhat are realistic expectations for the Knicks this year….they should definitely improve from last year but I would say the playoffs are not yet in their grasp
Also, what do you guys think about Toney Douglas, does he get serious minutes this year? I like what I see of him

Chicago1980ParticipantThe knicks really did nothing big to improve their team this year other than resigning lee and robinson and drafting jordan hill and tony douglass and they got darko they basically have the same team that won 20 something games i dont see a change they are lottery bound again but they will be a fun team to watch they will score 110 points but they will also give up 125.

rtbtParticipantThe Knicks should improve significantly on their performance because they’ll have a healthy Galinari, Wilson Chandler should improve, and Milicic will give them some size down low, a shot blocker, and a guy who could become a decent NBA center. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Jordan Hill makes a significant contribution.
The biggest shortcoming for the Knicks are the lack of a quality point guard and too many players who can’t or won’t play defense.
I’m guessing the Knicks will win between 35 and 40 games this year. I don’t think that will be enough to make the playoffs, but at least their trajectory is headed up after 4 disastrous years with Isiah Thomas running the show.

MagikKnickParticipantChicago1980…that was dumb
Last year the Knicks won 32 games, averaged 105, allowed 107
Clearly defense was the problem…shot blocking especially
We added 3 new players, Darko Milicic, Jordan Hill, and Toney Douglas
Darko is not what he was suppose to be..but hes a defensive improvement
Hill might be off too a slow start, and will likely have a bad season..but hes capable of swatting one
and i dont think I have to comment to much on what TD is capable of on defense
As long as nothing drastic happens(injuries, significant trades)…i dont see it anyway possible the Knicks will have a worst teamAs a Knick fan, im teling you that we probably wont make the playoffs, but give us a little bit more credit..

Chicago1980ParticipantI am not dumb I know a lot about basketball I make money off of betting this sport so if i am gonna invest my money on a sport I think i should know quite a bit about the teams and the players. First off I know they didnt avg 110 pts I was just saying they are gonna score a lot of points secondly they drafted a clone of david lee they play the same position and they do the same things. I aint gone front though Wilson Chandler is pretty good but the team really did not improve and if you are saying that darko is gonna bring some interior toughness and block shots you are terribly wrong he is soft and still hasnt panned out.

llperezThe Knicks might be a little better, but they won’t win more games because other teams have gotten better too.

marcusfizer21ParticipantThey are going to improve but as far as I’m concerned, they are still far from being a playoff contender… They need a big boost in their line-up and it’s no secret that the Knicks are hoping to get LBJ in the bandwagon but they’re gonna have to convince him to be with a team that’s filled with Eddy Curry and Jared Jeffries in it, which highly unconvincing… Still, the Knicks are looking good with the D’Antoni system and that’s going to bring in a lot of excitement… As far as this season goes, I am marking the calendar wherein Kobe, LeBron and DWade comes to town… They’ll probably set up another murdering scheme at MSG…

quincey hodgesthe knicks will suck again..they might have slightly improved because of gallanari getting healthy chandler getting better and adding darko but darko still int that good and they stil have the other same players as last year. the big reason they will suck though is becaue the other teams in the east got better. the knicks will fight for more ping pong balls in the lotto. that pretty much there destiney this year

llperezand those pong balls will go straight to Utah. The only thing Knicks fans really have going is the hope of landing a superstar next summer.

quincey hodgesoh yeah thats right..damn doesnt look to good for knick fans. there was a right up on hoopsworld about why would bron go to ny. he can make the same amount of endorsement money with cleveland a far as u.s money and even more with cleveland over in asia because of the asian owners
0 - Posted on: Wed, 10/14/2009 - 2:33am #221524

llperezi think bron is gonna make ridiculous money regardless where he goes. I have flip flopped back and forth as to whether or not i think he leaves. Right now, I’m thinking he bounces for NY. Shaq, Ilgauskas, West, and Gibson does not exactly scream team to build around Bron. MoWIll is good, but NY actually has much better pieces that can grow with lebron imo.

quincey hodgesi dont see the better pieces as far as winning now which is why bron would want to leave..with the knicks they would be years away. thats the reason people are saying he would leave becaue he wants to be on a title team. the knicks are a rebuilding team so it makes no sense to go there. cleveland is built for winning now more then the knicks are. now if he wanted to go somewhere and rebuild it would make sense but he doesnt seem to be in that frame of mind

llperezi don’t think Shaq at this point along with Williams, West, Verajao, Moon etc is much better then Chandler, Gallinari, Robinson, Lee, and Hill. Especially when you factor in that it will be another year from now with further development from the NY players. Let’s be honest, it’s not very hard to duplicate the current Cavs roster around a superstar like Bron.

AirJuggernautLebron should go to the Hawks (replace Joe Johnson)
they have better pieces and can build around
2 all-NBA defenders: Josh Smith and Lebron JamesIn terms of wins the Hawks are already a playoff team and the nets MIGHT get their bearings this year
but the Hawks are already establishedagree or disagree ?

quincey hodgeschandler is a baller..lee is pretty good..nate is a back up who is just a scorer first..gallanari hasnt done anything yet to be considered anything..hill cant even be in the discussion ..id take hickson over him now and cuz he has more upside..mo williams reguadless if you like him or not was a allstar all though a replacement..none of the knicks are all stars and the cleveland players work together and know there roles..nate clearly thinks his role is to be the leader ..i dont see how that knicks group is better when none of them have really accomplished anything( lee as a rebounder) i also take into consideration d’antonis offense inflates a players offensive stats. people seem to think its just ny that bron is looking at but hes actually looking at a couple teams
