In just one lockout-shortened season, Coach Casey changed the culture in Toronto. Once one of the easiest teams to score and rebound against in the NBA, Casey’s Raptors rapidly evolved into a top-10 rebounding and defensive club. The next step is to build on last year’s efforts and create enough offensive punch to win some games and the changes to last season’s roster have gone a long way towards accomplishing those goals.

That narrows the list of candidates down quite a bit, leaving really only two teams who look like a big enough mess to contend for the most ping pong balls in next year’s lottery: the Houston Rockets and the Orlando Magic.

San Antonio Spurs – Every year it seems like the NBA-watching public forget about the Spurs. Season after season, San Antonio continually produces a championship-level product on the court. Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan and, now, Kawhi Leonard represent one of the more formative foursomes in the NBA today.

That’s important because with Antawn Jamison (Lakers) and Anthony Parker (retirement) gone, the Cavs needed to find perimeter threats — particularly once Waiters and Irving get in the lane, draw double-teams and kick it to spotted-up teammates.
