NorthernLights666ParticipantI’ve never seen Bradley play outside of the Mickie D’s game and highlights on the net, but I have watched Willie Warren quite a bit and it seems like Bradley, with his supposed defensive prowess could potentially be better than Warren. Warren is a trememdous talent, but I see a lot of Rashad McCants in him, an undersized 2, an above average athlete that’s a lights out scorer with unlimited range, but not a whole lot of D. Any thoughts?

NorthernLights666ParticipantReally, McCants a below average athlete, I don’t see that, check out some of his highlights on YouTube, if there are any, the guy has hops and quickness, just not a very level head on his shoulders. I think most on this site would have to disagree with you on that, no matter how bad McCants is.

SlimParticipanthe is an above average athlete but not a gamechanger at 6’4
like Dwyane Wade IMOagree or disagree?

SlimParticipantRashad McCants is a below average athlete in my eles
6’4 with the weight of a small forwardWillie Warren is 6’4 200 lbs he is
not Dwyane Wade because D-Wade is 6’5 212 with Jordan size hands
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Dwyane-Wade-4726/could become another Baron Davis IMO
Warren got a better 3 pt stroke than B-Diddy though
so he just needs to be groomed to lead the fast break/initiate the offense
Warren also has size advantage on smaller guards like Bradley0 - Posted on: Wed, 09/30/2009 - 11:12am #217885

NorthernLights666ParticipantTotally agree, McCants is horrible, he will probably never play with another team in the League, Rockets don’t look back. I think McCants is probably the worst Warren could be, that’s pretty bad, but he’s probably more in the mold of a Rodney Stuckey type, hopefully as his game progresses so does his maturity, unlike Shaddy.

SlimParticipantJermaine Taylor (UCF) was a leading scorer in the nation and is a 6’4.75 (ala Wade) with good wingspan and leaping ability patterns his game after Dwyane as well
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jermaine-Taylor-5670/
I think if he can master the intricacies of splitting the pick and roll and getting to the line:

he will be fine candidate for ROYJ.Taylor (athletic) (26ppg 48FG% in college)

Champzilla21Participantif i wanted to risk it to get the biscuit id go with warren, hes pure offense that can catch fire at any time, amazing first step leaping ability and 3pt stroke. If he wants to be great and puts in the work his ceiling is extremely. Bradley would be the safe choice because his defense is already nba caliber and hes also athletic. I just dont think he has the potential warren has

SlimParticipantmaybe a lil bit of Ben Gordon (less decision making as a rookie though)
thrown in their for good measure?0 - Posted on: Wed, 09/30/2009 - 3:45pm #217988

HaleParticipantBen Gordon Jr. IMO.

lalailaParticipantreally????? he is even slightly better thatn Bradley i think….
and I would take him, both are undersized but 6’4″ 210 is way better than 6’2″ 180(Willie isn’t so undersized) both are good athletes, bradley faster , warren way stronger, but Warren looks even better scorer his handles is amazing, he shoots amazing, and he has even more chances to become pg type of player than Avery…
all in all, they are both very good prospects, and they can match all those talented PFs

joecheck88ParticipantIf I had to pick right now, I would take Willie Warren. I think if he was in the nba right now, he could be a sixth man of the year candidate coming off the bench with instant offense. I think he could be like 15ppg, 2rpg, and 2apg right now in the nba. He has the quickness and strength right now to do that. I dont know about the Ben Gordon comparison. It seems that Warren could be better at getting to the basket and finishing. Bradley on the other hand is a little skinny. I think he will need atleast 2 years in college before he could produce at a high enough level to get minutes in the league. He needs to work on his pg skills and he couldnt score much right now at the next level.

whiteflashParticipantWarren isn’t Ben Gordon. Their games are completely different. I like the Baron Davis comparison from an athletic standpoint, though Davis is more explosive. I think a more appropriate comparison for Warren is a more explosive Stuckey or a less fluid Wade. Both can get to the rack, both stick the open jumper, both are great with the ball. I think Warren’s gonna need to alter his shot a bit for the pros though, he shoots from damn near his chin and he’s gonna have trouble getting that off against NBA defenders. I really like the Bradley/Westbrook comparison, though I think Bradley is actually a better athlete. I like Westbrook but always felt like his explosiveness was overrated. Not that he isn’t, but it’s not like he’s crushing on 7 footers on the regular. He just gets a lot of simple 1 and 2 hand dunks. Bradley has bounce and is pretty damn fluid. That’s only gonna get better with the strength program at UT. I’d like to see him put on 10-15lbs and stick around for at least 2 years and come out as basically Robo-Westbrook with a wetter jumper.

wuteverParticipantMcCants is a solid athlete, and even though hes short for the 2, he got that sick wingspan for his size, which allows him to play a lot taller than what he really is. As for his game its a different story.

JNixonParticipantI’d take Warren. He’s more talented than Bradley offensively, as he has the handes to break you down off the dribble and he scores at aal 3 levels. Bradley is a mid-range/ long 2 kinda guy, buthe can get to the rim. Dont get me wrong, but not like Warren. And Warren has more range on his shot. Bradley is better on D, but Warren will be ALOT better here next year.
For comparisons, Warren reminds me of Baron Davis with less passing skills.
Bradley reminds me of Russell Wesbrook with less length.

quincey hodgesok wait a min..i liek bradley more then most and think hes a very very good player and a good defender but to say he can defend on the nba level and is better then warren right now makes no sense since hes only been shutting down other highschool players and hasnt played one game in college yet. ..cant we let a player prove something against better comp before saying they are better then a established, pretty damn good, college player?

JoeWolf1I haven’t seen much of Bradley, but I’m excited to see what he can do this season. With Abrams gone he will have an opportunity to contribute right away. Fran Freschela even went as far to put Bradley on his list of top defense stoppers in a preseason article he wrote last week. I have seen Warren play quite a bit and I’m pretty sold on him becoming a pretty good pro. He is a big time scorer, and put up 23 against Kansas, and 27 against Texas last year when Griffin was out with a concussion. OU has a good recruiting class, but I think Warren will emerge as an all-american candidate and leader of an up and coming OU team. He is a good competitor and I think he is a pretty good athlete, he is very strong for a smaller guard and quick as well. Warren is 6’4” 200 so he isn’t that undersized, just at the 2, if he can successfully work on his point guard skills this season, and as a pro he would be considered a big point guard. At this point he is just a combo guard, I like the Davis comparison for body type, but I think he will be a slightly taller Vinnie Johnson if he does not develop as a passer and point guard.

quincey hodgesthats tru. i think he will be drafted as a pg ala t.evans for the kings. then its up to him and his skills if hes gonna be one on the pro level..same with bradley actually

butidonthavemoneyI’ve watched a few Willie Warren games. He breaks-up plays, doesn’t move the ball, and takes bad shots. Overall he is a terrible decision-maker. He shows no enthusiasm on defense. That’s why I’m not a fan.
Warren does have good handles. He can penetrate at will (drive-and-dish, or put it on the hoop). He also has that crazy range and a purrrty shot. He’s a good, strong athlete with good quickness.
I like defensive-minded throwback players. So even though I haven’t seen any of his games, I’ll take Bradley over Warren.

SlimParticipantI like defensive-minded throwback players too.
if u can put up points and get to the free throw line efficiently in a team context, that’s what makes a throwback player.
2 many players dominate the ball nowadays,
anytime I point one out I lose points with their fans o well…0 - AuthorPosts
