Rafer Alston

well New Yorks not a contender and neither is Miami…. maybe the Lakers they could use some help at the point Fisher isnt getting any younger.

I have to question Alston as a player due to his poor finals performance and his attitude as well. He shot terribly, threw some careless passes. Then he whined to the media about his playing time. Jeff van gundy summed it up best, “Shanon Brown played 5 minutes last game. And you know what, he played those 5 minutes like it were his last and didn’t complain about how it was hard to find a rythim. This is the Finals.”

Brown was also never a starter though. Truthfully… Brown probably never knew if he was going to play or not. His role was primarily as a defender and a hustle player. Completely different situation that what Alston was in. Van Gundy just blew it by destroying the point guard rotation he had of Alston and Johnson just to implement Nelson, who hadn’t played in months.

Alston is a quality starting point guard.

true it was different situations entirely. But if Alston was playing better, then he might have kept his minutes. He played poorly and put the blame on his coach. When you are in the NBA Finals, you have to step up your game and leave on the court no matter how many minutes you are getting. I question any player who is unable to do that.

Finals performance aside, Alston is solid but I wouldn’t want him as my starter. If he is yor starting pg, then you probably need to be looking for another pg. He is a filler, but not the answer. Way too inconsistent.

Alston was the PG that lead them to the finals, not Nelson..Alston deserves more credit

I hope he ends up in NY, players often revive themselves when they get to play for there home team, not to mention…he has an expiring contract which is always motivation

i think he could fit in miami….he played there before n besides they need some veteran PG on that team.He’s been to the Finals and would really help MIami n there PG situation

I think he would be a better fit in New York. Duhon is most likely on his way out amd Robinson only signed a one year deal. Douglas is young and in my opinion is still a couple years away from being a starter. I think in Miami he would hinder Mario Chalmers’ development. Chalmers was a steal in the 2nd round last year and could develop in to an elite defender at point guard if given the minutes to develop even more.
