so if this russian billionaire becomes the majority owner of the nets, do you think the team will try to get Russian players within the league(AK47) and Russian players that are not in the league. I think this might happen because all the top government people in Russia do not like that he is buying an nba team and not promoting sports within Russia, but maybe he will make them happy by having the Nets take many Russian players so they can compete in a higher level, thus get better?

People are forgetting Ak47 carried Utah to the playoffs before Boozer and Deron Williams came along Jerry Sloan just threw Ak47 under the bus and doesn’t allow him to play his game its non sense to me really because he is good way better than he does.

he has always been one of my favorite players as an unheralded player who plays good defense, blocks many shots, and can score when depended on.. i just think he needs out of utah to start anew again. and i thought the nets might pick him up with their new russian owner wanting some russian talent on his team.. and plus the nets need a starting small forward, and kirilenko can play both forward spots, which is new jersey’s weak points.. Would Utah trade AK away for expiring contracts like Bobby Simmons’ big contract and Trenton Hassel’s…

Get AK47 out of Utah and put him at the 4. I guarantee you will see a lot better player. I love the idea of say NJ getting Lebron and putting Andre next to him at the 4, but that would not be my first choice and I definitely would not do it unless I could not nab anyone else in 2010 to pair with LBJ (assuming he makes it to NJ). Though with that said, I would rather have Kirilenko at the 4 on THAT team AS CONSTRUCTED as opposed to Bosh or Amare because you have plenty of scoring with Harris, LBJ and Lopez in the starting group alone and they don’t bring any defense.

it has nothing to do with sloan not letting him play his game utah just has better options on offense now and wants him to play the role thats best for him which ak doesnt wanna do he still wants to be the main guy taking most of the shots and since he isnt he starts to whine and cry( and i mean literally, anyone else who lived in utah and watches the jazz knows exactly what im talking about). he is a good player and a good third option type on a very good team but hes not a first option type thats gonna lead a team far

I know I never said anything about him being a first option. I think the guy is best as a 3rd option, but I also thinks that he fits much better on a team as a 4 and on a team that runs. When he is out on the perimeter it takes away from his shot blocking and rebounding more than anything. Utah just has had the luxury of having other guys who are good players, but are only able to play the 4 meaning that Andre is the only guy to move to the 3 because of his versatility.

As for Sloan he is an amazing coach and I still cannot believe he has never won coach of the year, but I think he is very controlling of how his team plays offense and no one can complain with the results, but I am saying it does take away from Andre’s overall ability. I think Deron would put up quite a few more points if he was in a different offense by the same token. I think Kirilenko is like most guys. They know what they can do and want the chance to be able to do it.

if the nets due trade for Kirilenko(unlikely) and get Lebron next year(has a pretty good chance id say) and keeps lopez and lee(very possible), their starting line up in 2010 would be:
    PG- Harris
    SG- Lee
    SF- Lebron
    PF Kirilenko
    C- Lopez

    now that would be solid

ak tend to not come to play every game also and sometimes he disappears because he doesnt get the amount of plays run for him that he wants. when he isnt whinning and b*tching he is a very very valuable player

I’m not even sure if the Nets are considering Kirilenko, I think the priority has to be to get Lebron because they will definitely be in the running. Then IF you can get Lebron then see what is is available to you in the free agent market, then maybe see if you can find a way to add a guy like Kirilenko without giving up any young talent in return. I think the Nets would be making a huge mistake to use up cap space on Kirilenko right now and then not have all their options open in 2010. The flip side of that is that NJ has a few sizeable expiring deals, but I would think those would only be given up for draft picks or players that fit into the longterm plans of the organization. That team is going to take a lot of lumps this year, but their young guys are going to gain tons of experience in the process and they should have a really nice team no matter who they get in 2010.

Watch Terrence Williams take Courtney Lee’s spot at the 2 if they get Lebron..Lee isnt anything special at all to me. He’s a solid player, but he’s a 2nd unit player. Williams will be a borderline All-Star. Mark my words…

Williams reminds me of an unselfish Corey Magette
      agree or disagree

PS he was playing the PG in the NJN website videos
so he is more of a facilitator/slasher

I can agree with that comparison, especially when Maggette 1st got to the NBA…
