European BallerParticipantIn Hellas it is reported that the Knicks are trying to get Vasileios Spanoulis out of his Panathinaikos contract. It is said the Knicks want to sign him to be their new point guard. Can anyone in US or knows NBA confirm this please? Thanks.

RickyRubio9ParticipantLOL. This made me laugh…
Freaking Crazyyy, I remember when he was a Rocket and we traded him for Scola. Dude can be good, but isn’t he old? Around 30? Plus he is out of control at times…but I didn’t even know anyone would bother bringing him in…Knicks bring in Sun Yue, already have Duhon, and drafted Tony Douglas? I believe that’s whom they drafted.0- Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 2:34pm #214630

I do not know if this is true. I ask because this becomes a story in Greece and he plays for the team I am a fan of Panathinaikos. So I am wondering now. They are saying the Knicks have been talking to his agent.

European BallerParticipantI am 100% sure he will never join any NBA team to be a 3rd point guard.

MagikKnickParticipantnot good at all, honestly

GreekParticipantI really dont believe that he will try again in the NBA especially that is soon he will become a father. He has all the skills/tools to become a good player there given the opportunity but i dont see it

marcusfizer21ParticipantSpanoulis is my favorite Greek Player… He’s such a veteran leader for Greece… He keeps his cool and is a very professional player… I like how he handles the ball, not a fancy player but defnitely a true leader th Greek team needs… Plus his ability to avoid careless turnovers is what gets me… He takes care of the ball so well… If the Knicks have him this coming season, things will shake up a little bit and it would be good for NYK…

I was wondering this also. But then I did think that since his wife/girlfriend is a super model that maybe New York would be appealing because of how much money she will make. I am not sure, because this would actually make sense for him to pick the Knicks so his wife could work there.
