I think the Willie Warren-Ben Gordon comparison is dead on

you know what..this is the first realistic comparision that ive seen ever on here…everyone else usually compares every player to all stars or future hall of famers…although i dont see the lance to jr smith since there games arent similar. or ed davis to hortford because hortford has post moves and davis is still raw

okay, just because he is comparing them to non all-stars does not make these good comparisons.

Lance Stephenson to JR Smith?????? No way

Ebanks to Kirelinko????? I dont see this at all

Damion James to Marvin Williams????? Not at all, James is way more versatile who can actually rebound and play defense

Greg Monro to Chris Bosh?? Just because they are 6 10 lefties does not make them similar. Chris Bosh is way more athletic and plays with heart. Greg Monroe plays exactly like Josh McRoberts imo

Patrick Patterson to Udonis Haslem??? Patterson is a beast and way more athletic and better offensivley

There are a few good ones but imo these aren’t very good comparisons

actually i was just talking about i like how hes being more realistic..i shoul dhave explained that more but i was in a rush so i skimmed through it and wrote what i did.. now that i have a chance to look at it the actually comparisions to the player are hit and miss.. willie warren plays nothing like ben gordan nor the ones you listed but its alot closer to the barnes to kobe or wall to chris paul mixed with rose or ed davis to rasheed wallce ones ive read in the past. this one is still better then the others

    Al-Farouq Aminu-Luc Richard Mbah a Moute

    Devin Ebanks-DeMar Derozan (better D)

    Willie Warren-Ben Gordon

    Derrick Favors-Mike Beasley (more explosiveness)

    Greg Monroe-Channing Fyre

    Ed Davis-Brandan Wright

    Xavier Henry- left-handed Morris Almond

Solomon Alabi- Antonio MyDyess (rawer on offense)

    Damion James-Mikael Pietrus

    Lance Stephenson-Paul Pierce

    Jerome Jordan- Patrick O’Bryant

Jarvis Varnado-Marcus Camby (worse offensive ability..yikes)

Grevis Vasquez- Marko Jaric (worse shot)

    Donatas Motiejunas-Pau Gasol

    Craig Brackins-Shareef Abdur Raheem

    Patrick Patterson-Nazr Mohammed

James Anderson- Ronnie Brewer is the exact opposite of James Anderson lol…Anderson reminds me of a more polished Maurice Ager….

A lot of those are dead on

James Anderson is a throwback to me, Kind of a Hersey Hawkins type player, very smooth slashing guard with good size who can hit the outside shot. Pretty complete player who’s strength is scoring, but isn’t really weak anywhere else.

Solomon Alabi has his stock pretty high right now, but I think he reminds me a lot of Johan Petro

Jarvis Varnado- Theo Ratliff with a splash of Roy Rodgers

Craig Brackins – poor man’s Glen Robinson

im not too high on davis either, but we( regular viewers) only see what we do on tv and the court, and when davis came in he was the 5th threat so always found himself gettin offensive boards and put backs, bc thats all he had to do, i read an article that the reason he is so high bc the scouts saw him in h.s and if roy williams doesnt usually recruit the type of players he has to do heavy teaching too…bc when u get the best recruits in the nation, you dont have too

I’ve tried really hard and I can’t really think of a comparison I think is very good for him. At first I though Raef LaFrentz, but Cole isn’t as skilled a jump shooter and on offense. The best I can think of is Marcus Camby with a little better offense and less athletic….what do you guys think?

The year philly gave him his big contract. I could be way off but as I was watching a Kansas game last year that name kept poping in my head. obivoulsy he will be beter but his game reminds me of todd mccolick or however his last name is spelled.

He’s nothing Like Raef. I’d say MARC GASOL

I think they are completely similar because:

    1. Not overly athletic

    2. Developing post moves.

    3. Intensity on defense

    4. Tenacity on the boards

    5. Decent court awareness/ passing out of double teams

    6. Jump shot is there, but not totally reliable yet

    THOUGHTS?

Cole is just a far superior shot blocker than Gasol, other than that I like it.

is Demarcus Cousins like pau gasol. He’s way more athletic and they both have two different styles of playing.

Ed Davis is no Tyrus Thomas and Greg Monroe is no Andray Blatche. Otherwise pretty good

Iguodala9, Ebanks is not nearly the athlete of Derozan, in fact they dont remind me of each other at all. Why do u compare them to each other?? I’m not trying to be rude, i just want to see why u think that

It’s the closest comparison I could think of…both are long, athletic players with bad range on their jumpers but decent mid-range games, lack handles but get to the rim with their quickness and both are decent defenders but I think Ebanks is the better defender of the 2. Who do you think he plays like? That’s the best comparison I could see…

He said that because he was talking about Marc Gasol. Pau’s younger brother who plays for Memphis.

I dont really know. I haven’t seen Ebanks play enought, but from the highlights he is no Derozan. Derozan is one of the best athletes i’ve ever seen. Ebanks while solid is nothing spectacular in terms of leaping ability and quickness.

Donatas Motiejunas is nothing like paul gasol.. and favors is nothing liek mike beasley..if anything backlashes was most on poitn because those 2 i just named arent even close.. and how is cousins way more athletic then gasol?..thats wayyy off. he jumps higher but as far as moving side to side and running up and down the court and the other things that make u athletic he doesnt have him beat. willie warren is also not the shooter gordan is or was. and patterson nazi..lol..for real?.nazi was strickly a defensive presence

That’s what Patterson will be in the NBA as well, he’ll score from the mid-range as a mid/high post man, but mostly defend the post.

Favors is like Beasley in that he has decent shooting skills for a PF (even though Beasley’s shot is better), he uses his size to create space and finish down low (even though Favors is more explosive and dunks more). The other comparison I have for Favors is Kevin Garnett, which now tha I think about it is more reasonable…….welp…

Marc Gasol is not a better athlete than Cousins. Cousins is the better leaper, shows a quicker 1st step, and runs the floor better than Gasol. He also can guard PF’s or C with his size, which speaks to his lateral quickness.

I’ve been wanting to see who you compare Jerome Jordan to and I agree with iggy9 about the Patrick O’Bryant comparison… They do have similar game and I bet Jerome could go into the late 1st round to the 2nd round… The Jamaal Magloire comparison is not really tight since Magloire has strength while Jordan needs to develop that part plus his toughness is lacking…

How about Xavier Henry? JR Smith? Hmmmmm… While it’s true that both can score but what makes X different is that he makes good decisions with the ball… JR can sometimes be careless about it and sometimes makes questionable shots… I am interested about the Salmons comparison though but I don’t know about that yet… I think X will come out better than Sal…

i was talking about paul cuz someone mentioned paul. favors game if anyone is more like josh smith..nothing like garnett..i refuse to compare a highschool to a hall of famer before they ever play against real comp. (one guy hasnt proven anything yet except against guys much smaller slower and weaker and other highschoolers)

The only thing Favors and Josh Smith have in common is their both around the same height, athletic and from Atlanta. Derrick Favors-Kevin Garnett is a very good comparison.

Guess there’s no being right with you then lol…comparisons are similarities in what they bring to the table and their attributes, Im not saying Favors is like Garnett in that he’s a future HOF’er who’s won an MVP and a championship (even though it’s possible with his talent). They play the same way…not putting credentials on the table.

“one guy hasnt proven anything yet except against guys much smaller slower and weaker and other highschoolers”

LOL then what the hell is point of comparing players since EVERYBODY in high school plays against smaller and weaker players? It’s a comparsion because they have similar games….it doesnt mean that their identical and will put up the same stats.
