JNixonParticipantI had to make this topic because the forum was getting dead lol….
But which player has the most to prove in your eyes…NBA or NCAA..

JNixonParticipantO and to me its Ed Davis. I want to see if he’s the real deal and worth this top pick mention he’s been getting from the draftniks and scouts..

McWinningParticipantDanilo Gallinari i think he has to prove a lot and is the Knicks hope for the future, he has talent but he still needs to prove a not.

QHaynes20John Wall- Everyone like him and I wanna see that “superstar” ability. I wanna see him improve his shooting and work better in a slow offense. He looks good in uptempo but not every team runs all the time

gatorheelsParticipantNCAA- Paul George & Willie Warren. Both need to show me more this season to warrant being lottery selections. I will be watching both of them closely. I understand both of them could be lottery picks but right now I just don’t see either one of them doing that unless they have huge years & show more than they did last season.
NBA- Julian Wright- he has to step up or his days in the league may be over. Corey Brewer- he should get plenty of playing time. I am rooting for him to succeed. If he could only gain a little weight & stay healthy I think he could be a solid pro. Anthony Morrow- not sure how much playing time he will get but I want him to show me he can do more than just score.

Meditated StatesParticipantLebron James needs to get a damn ring and improve his J. I will take the thumbs down, but its true. He needs to be more of a threat taking the big shot and at the free throw line 80 percent would be nice too.

JoeWolf1I think Craig Brackins needs to prove he can lead his team to a better season. He doesn’t have a lot of help for his sorry Iowa State team, but in my opinion there are a lot of guys on bad teams that look a lot better because they have to carry the load. Brackins has the skill set and size to be a very good player, but I think he needs to prove he is a winner before he can warrant a top 10 selection in this years draft.

JNixonParticipantI also think this year is big for Rudy Gay, he may have to show that he has the ability to be a number 1 option with other scoring options on his team if he wants a big deal in 2010 free agency.
And this could be an important year for Baron Davis as well, he has to show that his horrible shooting and lack of effort is all behind. If not, he will be moved from the Clips and s(more than likely) so will Dunleavy.

tli232This is a big season for Bargnani and Patrick O’Bryant. Bargnani has to prove that he can make that next step and go from solid starter to star. Towards the end of last season, he showed some star potential, but must at least maintain those averages of 19, 7, and block if people are to take him seriously as a star candidate in the league.
Patirck O’Bryant is entering his 4th season this year. He was, if I do remember correctly, a 9th overall pick! Unlike most lottery picks, he hasn’t even shown “flashes” of big potential. If he doesn’t at least play 5-8 minutes a game consistently this year, he better start packing his bags for Europe.

Toronto16ParticipantXavier Henry who is coming back from injury. And John Wall who is the projected #1 pick.
Greg Oden, Danillo Gallinari, Amir Johnson for the NBA.

blackflash234ParticipantNCAA – Ed Davis and it’s not even close. Every scout in the nation raves about this guy but I don’t see what’s so great about him. He has to prove to me that he can have more of an offensive season come this year’s NCAA season.
NBA – Danilo Gallinari – The reason why I chose Danilo over A.I. is because Danilo has more to prove come this season. Missed most of last season due to a serious back injury. He has to prove to the basketball world why New York chose him with the 6 pick before likes or Eric Gordon, Jerryd Bayless etc.
Honourable Mention NCAA – Paul George, Raymar Morgan, Jarvis Varnado
Honourable Mention NBA – Allen Iverson, Andrea Bargnani, Joe Alexander0 - Posted on: Sun, 09/13/2009 - 2:13pm #212365

dmo21Participanthe needs to show that he can shine in a starting role and with an up tempo defense so everybody will stop making fun of him (not likely)
0 - Posted on: Sun, 09/13/2009 - 2:27pm #212369

GreenLanternParticipantGreg Oden- No explanation needed
Greg Monroe- He is considered the #1 bigman in the country skill-wise but everyone has questions about his heart/motor.

JNixonParticipantI agree..I forgot about Monroe. I’m not big on him, but he is skilled. He seems weak though, and he doesnt look like he plays hard.

IndianaBasketballParticipantNBA
Greg Oden: This is a BIG year for him. He needs to prove he can stay healthy and be the post presence the Blazers need. I think he will, especially rebounding and defensively. I’m predicting that he’ll play 82 games this season.
Baron Davis: He damn near lost my support/respect as a fan last season. I went to the game versus the Pacers in Indianapolis and I promise he wasn’t playing hard. He didn’t even break a sweat… Literally. He needs to prove he can be the leader and player the Clippers thought they gave that huge contract to.
Elton Brand: He needs to get healthy and prove he’s worth the contract the 76ers gave him. Eddie Jordan says his offense will give Brand the opportunity to shine, so he’d better take advantage of it.
Gilbert Arenas AND the Washington Wizards: Arenas signed a $100+ million contract and has been injured ever since. He needs to get healthy and prove he’s worth that money. The Wizards in general need to get healthy or it’s time to break it up. I’m expecting a big season from Arenas and the Wizards.
Others: Danillo Gallinari & Joe Alexander.

marcusfizer21ParticipantNBA:
Greg Oden- he needs to show me, or all of us, that he deserved to be the number 1 pick… Injuries bit him alot that’s why he never did dominate and he lack the post offensive game which should have made him a dominant franchise center… He needs to show that he can live up to the hype…Michael Beasley- From being the favorite to dominate among the rookies to the rehab center in Houston…Ouch! He has to show that he is worthy of all the hype along with Derrick Rose or else he’ll end up being a Derrick Coleman whose career is way behind Gary Payton… From the looks of it, Derrick Rose is beginning to get away from the Rose-Beasley debate that surrounded the 2008 Draft.
Gilbert Arenas- Is he worth 100 million dollars after surgeries?
NCAA:
Ed Davis – As the new PF for the Tar Heels, he must prove to me why he is worth all the buzz…Xavier Henry- must bounce back from his accident and show he is worthy to be a lotto pick

McWinningParticipantGreg has some post moves better than Dwight Howard he just lacks the domination of him. his hook is okay but at least he has one, and you dont need post moves to dominate. just look at Dwight Howard his post moves are very weak he dominates with power attacking the hoop, rebounding, and shot blocking. except Greg is still a good defender, and rebounder, but not nearly as good as Dwight.

JNixonParticipantI think Oden has a decent jump hook as well and I think he has the ability to score consistently when he has good post positioning (most noticeable in the title game against Florida in 2007,he looked beastly that game), but he has a ways to go before he’s a true threat creating offense on the block. He has to show good improvement on his back to the basket. And stop fouling on D, trying to block every shot..

FT33ParticipantNCAA: People that are potential/sure-fire lottery picks

quincey hodgesdont think iverson needs to prove he can play since he showed that before being traded to det but he does need to show he can buy into a system thats not built for him to shoot alot. darko isnt gonna prove nothing except that he shouldnt have been picked so high and that hes over rated by thoses who are still waiting to see something special out of him. ed davis john wall and recently d.favors since some people on here seem to think his game is similar to beasleys( not even close) and that he will have beasley type season. another id say is sessions
