Michael.S.ParticipantWell, i never really heard this guy being discussed a whole lot on here, so just want to hear some basic opinions on Redd as a basketball player and where he stacks up, from you guys.

td8118ParticipantI think he would be a great number two option, but is not good enough to be the 1 option on a team….I think he’d be an absolutely perfect fit in NO with Chris Paul, he would complete their team

festar35ParticipantHe is a great player and a waste on the Bucks now they just aren’t going to compete in the East anymore.
He would look very good on the Hornets i like that idea i think he would fit well in Utah, Indiana needs a second option and he would help out Dallas as well.

JoeWolf1Pure shooter and scorer, after all of his injuries Im not sure what kind of player he is anymore. I haven’t seen him play in quite a while, but judging by what he once was I’d say he could still be a good scoring punch as a 17-20 ppg guy. I like what you guys said about the Hornets, If Wade doesn’t go to Chicago, i could see him as a good fit there as well. I think he could help out New Jersey as well with Harris at the 1, and promising young players like Lopez, Yi, and Williams, he would provide them with a proven veteran scorer.

unaznizedParticipanti love michael redd’s game and his willingness to take over games. he can create and get his shot off anytime. i dont really think he can lead the bucks into the playoffs as the no. 1 option though, expecially with the roster the bucks have right now.
i remember in 2005 when the cavs offered him a contract when redd was a free agent, but he re-signed with the bucks for $10 million more than what the cavs offered, so they had to settle with larry hughes. i think he would’ve been good w/ the cavs as the second option to lebron. imagine what delonte west does for the cavs offensively, michael redd would be twice as effective. the cavs have been lacking a true second scorer on their team every seen lebron showed up, and i think redd would’ve been great for the cavs.

marcusfizer21ParticipantAn unstoppable scorer especially at the 3-point area… He has a mean streak that is hard to stop him when he gets it going… He can hit 5-10 straight shots and is not afraid to take it anytime and anywhere… Leave him open at your own risk..
He has an unorthodox release but it’s effective so why change it? right? The thing about Redd is that he is a one-dimensional player… All he does is score, hit those 3’s and not much else… He has a decent defensive skill but he isn’t a rebounder nor a playmaking guard… But still he makes it up for making good decisions at the right time… That’s why Michael Redd is a 2nd-3rd option and not a first iption player…

sixersman111ParticipantRedd was drafted to be a pf in this league and with the help of ray allen became a amazing 3 pt shooter. I think he would be perfect for a team like Rockets or dallas. Not so sure about hornets though bc of the fact he is a terrible on def and i really think they need a big guy.

Da1potParticipantRedd is a great shooter and I agree, he would go great in New Orleans. The Hornets need to pursue him or Rip Hamilton. They could be contenders with either of those two.

McWinningParticipanthes a good player but no way isa he a number one option. the Bucks nrver shouldve traded Jefferson because now he will need to score much more and i dont think that helkps the team hec needs to be a 2nd option for that team to be good.

JNixonParticipantPure shooter with a very underrated ability to slash and finish. Most think he’s strictly a shooter, but he uses his shot to set up his dribble drive and mid-range game by pump faking (I’ve always noticed that) and its so respected and feared that most defenders continuously bite. He doesnt make spectaculars plays passing and defending, and he doesnt really try to do alot of either unless he has to. I think he’s a perfect 2nd or (depending on your team’s talent) 3rd option with 17-20 ppg being cash in the bank.

JoeWolf1Where did you get that information??? I watched Michael Redd play in college for a pretty good Ohio State team with Schoonie Penn, and he was a pretty decent 3 point shooter then. At 6’6” 210 or so pounds the Bucks did not draft him to play power forward. He is the perfect size for an NBA 2 guard and he played nothing but shooting guard in college too. Im just curious where you got that information, Redd did become a better 3 point shooter in the NBA which may or may not have been a result of playing with Ray Allen, but Redd made 126 3’s in 3 years of college ball, and was never drafted to play power forward at an NBA level.

sheltwon3ParticipantActually I remember Redd as been a small forward who helped finished Scoonie Penn’s alley oops. He could shoot alright but nowhere near what he has done in the NBA. I am sure that Allen’s competition helped him get his 3 on form.

D HampParticipantunaznized, good one on the larry huges being the second preferred choice.
Here it is guys, Redd was a excellent over-achiever who was a good player. The Bucks drafted him and Jason Hart of Syracuse that year in the second round! Now, he won’t nearly be the player he was before the ACL tear. And it’s only been about seven or eight months since he injured his knee so don’t expect too much from him this season.
Dhamp…the new Hubie Brown

Meditated StatesParticipanttaught Michael Redd how to shoot and he taught Rashard Lewis as well. Who do you think has helped Glen Davis improve his J?
