GreenLanternParticipantWho are the best colleges as far as producing NBA talent in the last 20 years? One of the answers surprised me. Everyone can guess North Carolina and definitely UConn as #1 on the list, but Duke just may be a top 3 program! You take out injuries to their prospects which can happen to anyone and then it becomes no question. Duke had a reputation for overrated talent for years but they are pretty impressive if you look at the last 15- 20 years. I can’t stand Duke like most people but I have to give credit where it’s due. Coach K has a knack for getting recruits that are really good but not always the most hyped in their class. I think that’s the key to his success, but I also think that’s why Duke teams get killed after the first round in March regularly. What (if any) programs rival UConn, North Carolina, and Duke as the best colleges at producing draft picks?

gatorheelsParticipantUCLA & Kansas are pretty strong at producing NBA talent especially with their current coaches.
Ohio St. is on the rise big time.
Georgetown is often overlooked but they have produced & will continue to produce solid pros.

GreenLanternParticipantYeah I’m waiting to see how Aldrich and Henry develop in the league before I put Kansas in the same league as NC and UCONN, but i think the Jayhawks have almost kept pace with Duke. Georgetown would be more spectacular than UConn if even two of their all-time three greatest centers (Ewing, Mutombo, Mourning) were drafted in the last 20 years. When I look at Calhoun’s track record, a blue-chip would be crazy to turn him down if he was also going to get playing time.

RickyRubio9ParticipantLeave it to Iggy to bring in Arizona. Wonder why? 🙂 haha Just kidding. They have produced some good talent over the years and you would be able to have added Jennings to that, but sadly not
