Interesting article….it quotes an NBA executive as saying “I’m not really sure how many people think Chris Bosh is better than Amare’ ”

Am I the only one who thinks that Bosh is a better basketball player…they are both great but if I’m a team in 2010 im definitely spending my money on Bosh…hes a legit 6’11 with lights out touch…not to mention Amare playing no defense

    What do you guys think?

Bosh is the better finesse player and has more offensive tools and is the better rebounder and defender. Amare isnt a good rebounder or defender really, but he’s is a top 3 player in terms of physical tools. I would still go Bosh, better all around.

Im a raptors fan, but I say Amare, Bosh may have more talent, but he is soft, he settles for a jumpshot too often, until he changes that, I take Amare.

I’d chose amare every day of the week. now that shaq is gone the paint will be his. I like Shaq but he turned amare into a shooting player, when amare really needs to be operating in the paint. He is my dark horse to lead the league in scoring this year

I think they are both too soft and could both be much better, but I think Amare is so good offensively that you cannot compare the two. Not too many big guys are able to score or put up the types of numbers that Amare does. Bosh is like Amare lite. Besides despite all of Amare’s flaws, I think you could build a championship team around him.

Chris bosh. On the offensive Bosh has so many more ways to score. Physically i dont amare as light years ahead just “better” also bosh is a little taller. I see bosh better in many more ways than amare is better than bosh

Even though I think Amare is better now, I think Bosh will probably be a better player for a longer part of his career. I think Bosh is more skilled, but Amare is more powerful and athletic. If Amare doesn’t develop more soon, I can see him fading as his athleticism fades. Guys like PJ Brown and even Joe Smith are not great players by any stretch but they were guys that could have long productive careers because they were able to do more than just one thing.

Bosh is more skilled but Amare is the better player considering their position and effectiveness.Bosh can do stuff that is really not needed for Amare in his dominating inside game and decent jump shot.

Bosh is the better player because he offers more things. Amare is the physical specimen that is the beast on offense, while Bosh at least tries to defend and rebound which are two things big men have a responsibility to do. Amare gets every single stat he puts up except scoring (because he shoots mid-range J from time to time) by way of his physical tools and athleticism. Bosh isnt a a beast on D or on the glass, but he’s no slouch either. There is no way Amare should average 8 or even 9 boards. He should challenge for the league lead every single year, and he never is even close. I love Amare and think he’s a exciting and elite player but I choose Bosh, because his game goes past his physical ability.

Before you guys say what player you are choosing you have to explain in what situation. as a number one option i choose amare but number 2 option would by far be bosh

    Wow! great debate

Both players are similar age with similar stats, yet have different games. If you look into their averages, your not going to get a definitive answer on who is the better player. Bosh grabs a board more per game, and Amare shoots about 5% better from the field.

If your relying on either player to anchor your team on defense, you are not going to be a good defensive team, period. Which is why neither team has contended recently.

If I had a team that was already well balanced, like portland or chicago, i’d go with Bosh. You throw Bosh on a team like that who already has a solid depth of scorers from the guard and wing, and solid interior defenders, your going to be damn good. Balance is the key.He will never average more than 25 a game like Amare did. But if he plays with a guard and a wing who can put up 18-20 a game, then your utilizing his strengths most.

If I had a team with a great point guard, especially in the pick and roll, I would go with Amare. He is the best scoring big man in today’s game period. He could definitely anchor any offense, but thrives with a great point guard on the pick and roll or pick and pop. BUT, for your team to truly contend, you must pair him with a great interior defender and rebounder.Throw him to a team like new orleans, with paul on the pick and okafor as the defensive anchor, and anyone who can knock down a J, u would surely contend.
