If you had the chance to do over the 2008 NBA Draft what changes would u make?
For me Anthony Randolph would’ve went # 2 to the Heat, Brook Lopez would’ve went 5th to Memphis which meant the Timberwolves would’ve traded OJ Mayo for to the Grizzles for Brook Lopez, Beasley would’ve went to the Knicks, Kevin Love would’ve got picked by the Bucks, Luc Muate would’ve got picked by the Celtics, and there’s many more, but those would’ve been my main changes

Not jumping on the Randolph express just yet, I see the potentil of course but I wanna wait 1 year to see if he can put it togther. That being said I like the changes you have made I love seeing Beasley on the Knicks, and Randolph on the Heat teaming up with Wade and O’Neal.

1.M.Beasley(he would be 20ppg8rpg just as a rookie) and Hinrich is still good pg
    2.D.Rose
    3.OJ Mayo(wolves)
    4.R.Westbrok
    5.A.Randolph(grizzlies)
    6.E.Gordon
7.B.Lopez (and no trades for Camby)
    8.K.Love
    9.J.Bayless
    10.J.Thompson

no way id take randolph over beasley. STOP HATING ON BEASLEY. He’ll be back and show everyone why he was such a high pick. But yeah anyways id say brook lopez would definetley go top 5 and Love would be top 10. I think Bayless might slide out of the lottery if the draft was done over again. I like him but he really isnt a point guard

In the world can you have Randolph over OJ Mayo or Westbrook? What has Randolph done besides play well in the summer league?

I totally agree, he hasnt done anything in real games, while Beasley, Mayo, and Westbrook were top 2 contributors on their respective teams. I agree that Randolph has tons of potenital, but so did Eddie Griffin and a bunch of other players that never panned out. Mayo, BEasley, and Westrbook are proven NBA players who have just as much potenital as Randolph in my opinion

    I would have taken
    1) OJ Mayo
    2) Derrick Rose
    3) Russel Westbrook
    4) Michael Beasley
    5) Eric Gordon
    6) Brook Lopez
    7) Jerrad Bayless
    8) Anthony Randolph
    9) Kevin Love
    10) Jason Thompson

I know there are some talented players in that draft, but Derrick Rose (in my opinion) proved himself as a good choice as the #1 pick last year, especially with his performance in the playoffs. Despite the fact Hinrich is still a very good point guard, the two of them can co-exist on a team. After watching last season I would not regret not taking Beasley or Mayo over him at all. Maybe in 3 years things will be different, but just judging by last year I’d say Rose would still be the #1 pick if that draft was re-done today.

yes. dont take summer league games seriously.. bayless, morrow and randloph .. themselves know that xD. does any GM really want to pick randolph ahead of gordon, OJ, westbrook, beasley, lopez, like.. for real? im thinkin maybe id pick love over him too. at least love looks tough and durable.. not saying randolph gets an injury lol but it looks like its waitin to happen.. lol.

are interchangeable… All put in great freshman seasons in college and were top of the class every year during high school, while having good NBA rookie seasons… Can’t say I would take one above the other… Anthony Randolph is cool but would you say that if he didn’t have a coach to NOT play him like Donnie was? What if he could to play 30 min+ a game like OJ would he have that same drive? I would say no because that was his personality… Sad but true… Westbrook is being hidden in that offense, he can’t shoot and can’t really pass, but yet people tend to put him ahead of a lot of players… I just don’t get it… When was the last time anyone saw a WHOLE OKC game? He’s good and has potential to be named to a few all-star teams, but a franchise player? NO… I’m sorry he’s a decent role player, might be the best role player, but he lacks the skills needed for the PG position and the shot to be effective in the offense… He’s not 6’8 260 to not have certain B-Ball skills like some people… But even with that LeBron shoots a better than he does….

1.beasley – bulls will have a solid player at every position
2.westbrook – monster backcourt at miami defensively and offensively.
    3.rose – instant legit star
4.lopez – sonics will have to trade away other big for some avg PG veteran. then draft their future PG in ’09
    5.mayo – instant legit star

Just curious, but how is Rose not #1 on any list? He was the only rookie to lead his team to the playoffs, he won rookie of the year and still has the most upside left. What more could you want? OJ is great, so are guys like Gordon, Westbrook, Lopez, etc. but come on…

Rose is very good but I think OJ is better Ive watched both of them play probably more than anyone on this board and OJ is just as good as Rose. Rose has a better team around him than OJ thats why they made the playoffs. I like both I think they both will be superstars but I think OJ is better.

beasley dropping to the knicks..thats funny…im not ure why people be hating on beasley but i do have an idea…most people on here are bandwagon jumpers so when they see a basketball site tear down a player or talk bad about a player then they jump on aboard. what people dont realize is that beasley already had one of the top players in the nba on his team add to the fact that there was a very very solid 4 in hasleem who most rno rookie would start over. also i wouldnt have been to mad to see the bulls pick him since hinrich( though not rose) is a very very good starter. beasley could have easily started and got 20pts and 8 rebs for other teams. rose defense was pretty bad but his coach decided to let him learn by fire. beasleys coach didnt..though i didnt really agree with that approach i think in the long run it will hep beasley since he knows in order to stay on the floor he has to play defense and hes not gonna just stay on the floor because hes so talented offensively. randolph is the same way as far as the people on here doing the band wagon thing. how about he show and prove in real games before annointing him as great or a richmans lamar odom..beasleys upside (when he gets his act together) is still extremely high

Randolph played well in SUMMER LEAGUE. Lets cut that whole “Superstar” thing out…he did not show it in real NBA

Rose should be number 1 hands down.

Westbrook, Mayo, Lopez, Randolph, would all go ahead of beasley imo.

a couple of people have Bayless getting drafted higher than his 2008 pick of 11th and all he has done is not beat out Steve Blake and tear up the summer league. I wouldn’t take him in the lottery honestly and If my team needs were a point guard, I’d take Mario Chamlers.
