Who is the best ball handling big men in the history of the game. And by “big men” I’m refering to guys who play the 4 and 5 positions primarily. So Magic and Lebron aren’t really bigs in this discussion.

He was the true meaning of a player who was a student of the game. He didn’t cross guys over in a face up scenario because that wasn’t the type of game he played, but he could dribble, shoot, pass, and had more post moves than anyone i’ve ever seen first hand.

He wasn’t much of a pro player, but he could handle the ball very well, I remember him going coast to coast complete with behind the back moves at Michigan.

Like someone mentioned, Renardo Sidney will be the best handler for a big in a few years.

i used to workout with jerome williams (junbkyard dog) and suprisingly he had major handles…it shocked me..during pickup games (at doc’s gym)he ran the pg. now some of ya’ll will say aww thats just a pick up game against sorry guys, but for those that know about basketball in the dc marylnad va area and along the east coast then ya’ll know docs gym was ultimate pickup game..invite only…everyday the starting 5 level would be…team one..allen iverson, curt smith (google him) alonzo morning, johnny rhodes, walt williams vs moochie norris, charles smith louis bullock, nate james patrick ewing. i mean half of the games were nothing but nba players on the court and jerome was easily one of the best players and ball handlers out there. he literally looked like how lebron looks now as far as getting to the basket, handles and suprisingly jump shot….yeah i know the exact opposite of his game in the nba

i’m not saying he is or will be the best but Blake Griffin is an excellent ballhandler. Anyone who watched him in college can agree with that

My top two would be Webber and Odom.

if I had to chose one it would probably be:

    Boris Diaw

but its a close race considering the agility of:

    Lamar Odom
    Chris Bosh
    Kevin Durant
    Pau Gasol
    Antwan Jamison
    Kevin Garnett

it’s probably Chris Webber… the guy wasn’t the fastest player but he was crafty and could handle the ball.

but if Larry Bird (who played power forward a lot of the time) was playing today he would be a power forward and he would be the best ball handling big man in history.

    others worth mentioning:

    Arvydas Sobonis
    Derrick Coleman

Did you see that reverse between-the-legs, behind-the-back pass he made on a fastbreak play that stunned the crowd? even Kobe was shocked… The finish was a Trevor Ariza dunk…

C-Webb, I agree, has some handles… Back in his Warrior and Bullets days… He was definitely a big man running the point on fastbreak, OCCASIONALLY…

Shaq was also showing his handles every All-Star game… So we know he has some skills too
