rickybobbyParticipantDo anyone thinks Tracy McGrady will make it to the Hall OF Fame. Me personally believes he is a lock to make it. He’s been to coutless allstar games. He lead the league in scoring twice. He’s a top 10 talent when healthy. But something seems to be missing in his re’sume. Maybe its because he not made it pass the first round in the playoffs. Or maybe because hes often injured. To me when I watch him play, his game and skills theirself just speak HOF. Is it just me or is T-Mac a Hall OF Famer. Rember 13 points in 45 seconds. Who else have ever done that. Brought there team back from a sure loss to a victory basically by himself so you cant’t say he doesn’t have the heart. And you cant always put the blame on him because his team never made it out of the 1st round. If you look at his playoffs stat you will see that it looks like he was the only one trying to win. He lirerally lead the Magic while he was there and the Rockets while Yao was injured. T-Mac is a Hall OF Famer.

HaleParticipantI don’t think he is a lock but if he plays a few more good years I think he will be in.

JoeWolf1McGrady is around 17,000 career points, if he can get to 20,000 then i think he will get some consideration, but that means he has to stay healthy, 545 points in 35 games last year and 1,427 in 66 the year before. By no means is Tracy McGrady a first ballot hall of famer, but i think if he can reach the 20,000 point mark he should get in down the line. If he were to reach a Finals or win a ring in the next few years that wouldn’t hurt his cause either

canesboy6ParticipantI think his days as bieng the leading man of a playoff team are over. I would really like it if a team got him for the midlevel or something as a 6th man sg/sf and he could still get 25 or 30 minutes a game. I could also see him not playing much longer though, he has had a trillion surgeries and missed probably 2 or 3 whole seasons worth of games in his career, so its not impossible.
As of today, I would say he is out. Dont hate, its just my opinion, but he just has too many knocks right now. If he were to hang around and compete on another team and climb up the career stats lists a little farther and get to at least a conference finals, that would help his odds. But if he were to never play another game, I would say voters would be critical of both his injuries and his playoff failures and that would keep him out.

llperezIf he struggles to become even close to where he used to be, probably not. but if he can have 3-5 more solid years, then yes.

RickyRubio9ParticipantI don’t think it will…sad thing too, he has to be amazing in his return and like it was said above, last 4 more seasons at least.

QHaynes20To me, he needs 2 or 3 good seasons.

HaleParticipantYou got it down perfect.

QHaynes20Yea. Do I think he is overrated? Yea
but 2 or 3 seasons with numbers like 18ppg, 6rpg & 6apg and he could be in the HOF

HaleParticipantI agree with the 2nd line. We both know our 1st line battles haha.

DeAndreParticipantHe can make the hall of fame
not a lock but has a good chance
led the league twice in scoring has a career average of 22ppg
if he comes back strong
(he says hes almost at 100% and will be jumping back in the toronto days)
has 17,000 points
if he scores 20,000 then yes he will be a hall of fame
remember
this is the only season hes averaged 15ppg for a very long time
b4 this season he has averaged what?
21,25,24, he was aT those numbers,
he just needs to be healthy,
he still has good years in him0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/19/2009 - 4:03pm #203207

Henry25ParticipantIn my opinion he doesnt deserve it. He has never been a winner and is always injured. If he can come back from this injury though and play another good 3-5 years and maybe makes some playoff runs then yeah he will probably get in, but i still dont think he would deserve it

DeAndreParticipantwhy would tmac not deserve it??
a 2x scoring leader
7xallstar(i think)
28ppg in playoffs average
clutch
very ahletic
the only thing holding him down is injuries, without injuries he would be with kobe lebron wade and all those other guys
people tend to forget what he is like at 100%0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/19/2009 - 4:08pm #203211

Henry25ParticipantSure he is a great talent, but when you don’t put in work you dont get my respect, it’s as simple as that. He was a real good scorer when he still had his athleticism, but now that that is starting to diminish he isn’t nearly as good as he once was. And you wanna know why he is always injuured? Because he has never really gone hard in the offseason, so therefore his body breaks down over the course of a long season. I’m not being a hater, its just the facts. He is close, and if he gets back to the level he was at, then yeah he should get in, but if he doesnt, and still never gets out of the first round, how can u say he deserves it then????

marcusfizer21ParticipantI may not be a McGrady fan but boy does he deserve it… A guy who is a natural scorer and a phenomenal athlete… that’s what should be remembered about him, not the ugly injuries and the lack of focus or that he has never made it past the first round of the playoffs… I think he still got it. He just needs the chance to prove it… With all the 62 points and a scoring season of 32.1 when he was with the Magic… With all the All-Star events that he had gone through… With that game against the Spurs where he made those miracle plays to make a comeback win… With all the highlight reels that has made him a household name even with kids at the age of 8… He should be a candidate or SHOULD be in the HOF…

billykParticipantMcGrady is a great player when healthy but I dont think he is a hall of famer… Yes he might have the points but he was never an efficient offense player… He pretty much has dogged it on defense since his Raptors days.. His offensive stats are a little misleading because he didnt really care about defense… His 13 points in 33 seconds is HOF worthy…

thaprodigyParticipantin a article I read somewhere T-Mac said he will guaranteed he will be back to his old self and said he could put up 30 points a night I’ll try and find the article again
and this is this is T-Mac’s contract year and if he plays as well as he thinks he can and gets back by the all star break he should get some offers and sign with a good team like Chicago for the MLE or another good team with a good star player so he could be the second or third option and average 17-20 points for the next for seasons and stay healthy I think he would make the HOF and of course getting past the 1st round and winnig a championship would help his case a lot.0 - AuthorPosts
