GoodbyeChandlerParticipantfarve signed with the vikings. i think he thinks retirement means temporary vacation.

Michael.S.ParticipantWho cares? I don’t like the guy.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 4:49pm #202478

R-Dot-13Participanthe needs to just retire, hes ruining his resume.
he wont even throw the ball that much, Adrian Peterson will be getting all the touches.0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 4:49pm #202479
BasketballGuru24ParticipantIts not like he has any targets to throw it too……Sidney rice is their best reciever and he can’t do much, i see him as special teams.
They would have had better luck signing Vick. Favre throws too much interceptions

HaleParticipantBerrian is good, he almost had 1,000 yards. But I hate the Vikings and hope they suck.

IndianaBasketballParticipantFavre has had a great career, but I don’t know how anybody respects him at this point… Especially his teammates. All he’s doing is skipping training camp and OTA’s. He’s done this the last two seasons. He retires and then comes back at the start of pre-season lol, instead of getting on the field early and working hard with his teammates.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantFor a 1st reciever thats pretty mediocre
0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 5:01pm #202487
BasketballGuru24ParticipantI know i had to delete that quik lol you win that but his touchdowns mainly came in the redzone. He never had a major catch and only had less then 1000 yards which is like top 25

HaleParticipantYou have to consider also that the Vikings don’t throw very often, and their QB’s were pretty bad. 964 and 7 TD’s are not bad at all, especially for a team that doesn’t throw very often. I don’t know why you think that is mediocre. Only 22 players got 1,000 receiving yards last year and Ariznona had 3 of them and Green Bay and New England had 2. Leaving almost half the league without one.

HaleParticipant“He never had a major catch”
He got a 99 yard touchdown and let the NFL in yard per catch. As stated above: Only 22 players got 1,000 receiving yards last year and Ariznona had 3 of them and Green Bay and New England had 2. Leaving almost half the league without one.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantThat was once touchdown if he could have got more of those he would have had like 1000 + but he doesn’t .
This is also not about the other teams. Other teams offense don’t affect other peoples offense. All im Saying is Favre Should retire and he might make things worse. If you have seen the viking play they are a running team. They have no reason too throw with Elvis Presleys classmate ( Favre)

Bryant24ParticipantI like adrian peterson but i hope the vikings suck because farve is a liar he had the other quaterbacks working they butt off not knowing he was coming back. He’s older so when a MLB do quaterback sneak he cant run they goin to end his career he goin to wish he retire. farve still is one of the greatest football players of all time just dosent know when to quit

HaleParticipantI agree with that. I wish my boy had stayed retired, I’m saying Berrian isn’t mediocre. How can other teams not matter? You said it is mediocre but in fact is above average for the league compared to other teams, it’s evidence in my case.

marcusfizer21ParticipantBrett Favre’s greatness has been completely overshadowed by these crap retirement issues and then change his mind into playing again… Come on, man! Wake-UP! John Elway’s retired and so is Warren Moon… You are already an old man… Get a life!

McWinningParticipantcant wait for that game im so pumped to see the them play eachother.

kong47272ParticipantNot saying what Farve is doing isn’t wrong but, time will still look favorably on his career.
The thing is we don’t remember MJ for what he did as a Wizard, or Joe Montana when he was with the Chiefs.
We remember Farve’s slow end now because its happening, over time people will forget about how sad things have become with him retiring just to avoid training camps, and coming back just to attempt and spite the Packers.

0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 5:59pm #202498

GoodbyeChandlerParticipantif youre intersted, circle october 5th on your calender. thats when favre and the vikings meet the packers.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 6:37pm #202583
QHaynes20why is it funny?
0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 6:42pm #202589
SpencerIsHawesomeBecause your trusting a 40 year old QB who completely fell a part last year and had surgery on his throwing elbow in the off-season and threw 22 interceptions.
And dont forget his last playoff game he completely blew it when he threw that INT directly to the Giants in OT in one of the worst passes I ever saw
Meanwhile TJAx threw 8 TDs and 1 INT the last 4 weeks for Minny last yr…. At this point in their careers, I dont know if Favre is better than JAckson

QHaynes20Yea but before that, Farve took NY to a 8-3 record and defeated a Undefeated Titans team.
Farve wont have to throw alot of passes. I see him being a 20-25 pass per game guy. With Berrian as a speed guy, Rice as a possesion WR and Harvin mixing it up….he can get 25-30 TD easy. But that will come with 14-18 INTS.
AP and Taylor will mix it up running the ball with Harvin having some wildcat carries. The Defense was the best stopping the run and was 6th overall.
Farve can lead this team to a SB
0- Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 8:04pm #202623
kong47272ParticipantFarve is a gunslinger though, do you really think he can be that effective in an offense in which he doesn’t throw at least 25-30 times a game? And if they do cut back the number of throws he is allowed to make you know he is going to gamble more often to get more production out of fewer attempts. If anything Farve has shown in the last few years here he does what he wants.
When Farve gambles more interceptions happen.
I think Farve is an upgrade for Minnesota at QB, but if they are expecting to limit and control the number of passes he throws it could be an interesting experiment to say the least.

SpencerIsHawesomeGambling QBs= Tough to win in playoffs/down the stretch… Beleive me, Im a cowboys fan.. I prefer a Troy Aikman over Tony Romo anyday
0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/19/2009 - 3:58am #202676
QHaynes20Yea, In the playoffs, Brett wont throw that much. AP will get alot of carries and Favre will keep the Defenses honest.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/19/2009 - 8:14am #202870
kaceyParticipantFavre knows the Vikings offense already for the most part, so I can understand if he wants to skip OTAs and training camps for that purpose. However, as a quarterback who needs to gel with his receivers and find a rhythm with them, then he should have been with the team earlier. With 3+ weeks until the start of the season that could be enough time.
Brett has plenty of weapons around him, one of the top O-Lines in the game, and a hell of a defense. Their defense is stout enough to prevent the Vikings from having to air it out to make a comeback and all Brett will have to do is just manage the game and hand it off to AP.
Kong4742 said it best. Favre won’t be remember for everything that has happened the past 2 seasons.
I’m a Packers fan, but Favre being in Minny isn’t increasing their chances of beating us more than they already could have without him. If the Raji doesn’t show up big time at the nose tackle position in the 3-4 defense that the Pack are running then the Vikings will be running all day against our defense.

QHaynes20As a pack fan myself. I think we can be a good team next season with another mid 1st round pick to add another DE/OLB.
We also need a 2 back system

HaleParticipantRight on! I’m a Packer fan too.
