JoeWolf1Despite a good summer league performance, i just don’t see him earning a lot of minutes in LA. He is a good scorer, and thats about it, he could potentially find a role on a team as a sharp shooter off the bench, but I think it will take him going to a new team to even get a chance to do so

quincey hodgesi kinda feel ya on that joe. but if sasha decideds to shoot like he did last year i think adam can take some of his minutes

billykParticipantI dont understand why peopl think Morrison is a “shooter.” I feel that he is a scorer that happens to have a decent shot.. I dont see him as a shooting specialist or a spot up shooter… I think his game is with the ball in his hands trying to score in a variety of ways… IMO I dont think he will be anything more that a 8th or 7th man off the bench…

eprizzle14Participantneeds to develop into a Turkoglu type defensively and could take a thing or two away from him offensively. They both dont have great foot speed/lateral quickness but Turk is def the better athlete. I’m not writing off Morrison yet.

blazer_fan_foreverParticipantHe might not ever be a starter, but he could be a good 6th man on a good team. He could end up being a 10-14 ppg type of scorer. A defensive liability, but there are a lot of players that are as well who get significant minutes.

ckowalskiParticipantHe should take a look at JJ Redick and try to do what he did. Get stronger and focus on expanding his game. The NBA has no room for one-dimensional scorers which are a dime a dozen. Redick earned every minute he has played so far in Orlando and by the way he shoots when he does play it isn’t because he is lights out from the floor.

llperezi don’t see him ever being too special or a starter, but he still might develop ito a decent nba player. Last year was an adjustment period for him coming off the injury and learning a new offense on a veteran team. But regardless of whether or not he gets much playing time, learning from Phil and Kobe and others should only benefit him long term.

quincey hodgesthere will always be room for one dimensional scorers off the bench if you produce ala eddie house but prob not as a starter…then again one dimensional players have been starting lately ( bruce bowen, dahntay jones, i think even damion jones used to start sometimes..lol)

no1Participantunfortunately he will nvr ressurect his career…. what team will give him tht chance

ckowalskiParticipantI resisted saying one dimensional players because I thought about people like Bruce Bowen, Shane Battier, Dahntay Jones, and even Trevor Ariza to a lesser extent as good defenders that don’t really do much else besides knock down an open shot so I said one dimensional scorers instead. There could be room for him as a scorer IF he produces as you said, but I just don’t think he will get the oppurtunity to show what he can do or if he can do anything, especially with LA. I think he needs to work on other aspects of his game because that is what will get him the minutes he needs to break into the rotation. He can worry about scoring a ton of points once he sees some playing time.

quincey hodgeslol..some of yall act like hes been in the nba forever and has zero potenial to do anything. its been what 3 years with 2 being injured and recovering and one where he averaged 11 as a rookie although he shot kinda bad which alot of rookies do and young players and eventually they get better. hes not durants or sessions level but durant shot pretty bad last year and session shot 19percent from 3 point range. not sure what rondo shot as a rookie
give him a chance to play while healthy and get a chance to get out on the floor..just look at shannon brwn..his shooting percentages have stayed in the 30’s and ariza who was in the low 40’s ..neither has one season in there career where they averaged as high (ppg game wise) then morrison had as a rookie

quincey hodgesyeah i agree with you on that unless some injuries happen or sasha continues his downward path or adam out plays them in practice, all of which are possible in my opnion

billykParticipantPersonally I think he has “zero potential to do anything.” Obviously some people with disagree with me (and rightfully so) but I dont think Morrison is going to get alot better… The only reason he is still in the league is because he was picked so high…. He is 25 years old and I dont see the particular skill that will keep in the league.. He is a scorer, but that was in the West Coast confrence… As a rookie he scored 11ppg becasue the Bobcats didnt have any other scorers and the rest of his game was below average.. He isnt gonna make a diffrence on the Lakers cause they dont NEED scoring.. I think there are plenty of SG/SF in the league that can score as will or better than Morrison.. Im curious to see what over .500 type team will have Adam Morrison as a 6th man… He might be a sixth man on a lottery team… I dont think Morrison brings the same type of toughness and cockiness as House… I also dont believe Morrison plays off the ball like House…. House can light it up like when dude catches fire he can shoot with anybody in the league…

quincey hodgesim just wondering how a player can be labeled as a bust after really playing one year which wasnt so bad then being injured afterwards. should oden also be labeled a bust because he was drafted high, foul prone, no post moves, and travles alot?..i dont think he should be labeled a bust either yet
0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 10:00am #202261
billykParticipantI think Morrison is a BUST he was all hype coming into the league and got drafted because people thought he would be a scorer in the league… And I dont think he will (unless he gets a 15-20 shots a game and what team would give him that???) I dont see him as a sixth man type I dont think he is a good player… Quincey, what skill do you think Morrison brings to the table that makes him a sevricable NBA player???
0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 10:08am #202268
quincey hodgesi think he will be a scorer off the bench. like i said before hes played 1 healthy year so how can someone say what a player will eventually be able to do? if thats the case we probably should start rating the rookies how they did last year as to how they will do for the rest of there career. i trust the lakers know what a player can and cant do (great track record with that) and if they really thought he had zero purpose for them then they would have found a way to buy him out. i wonder how bad other nba players are thouhgt to be who played alot worst then him in a nba summer leauge against players who wont even be in the nba
0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 10:19am #202284
billykParticipantI can say that because he isnt that good and he isnt going to get that much better (a hunch maybe?)… Im not talking about other rookies, im not generalizing like that… Im talking about Adam Morrison NOT other players… That trade was about as much as getting rid of Radmanovic… Personally I dont see Morrison on the Lakers for that long…. I dont see what Morrison does to make him anything more that a third or fourth guy off the bench… He is a slighty above NBA scorer and below average in ever other aspect of his game (passing, rebounding, defense, etc.)…..
0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 10:21am #202295
quincey hodgesoh ok..its just off of youre hunch/opinion…well yeah thats acceptable. personally i just cant tell ( pretty much no one can other then opnion) what a player will be after one year of playing healthy
0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/18/2009 - 10:40am #202308
billykParticipantYes my opinion (that he is a below average rebounder, defender, passer, and ball handler)… But I dont see what makes Morrison a solid 6th man type role player… But i geuss thats why GM’s over pay guys and draft guys based on “P”, because it comes down to opinions on players…
