It’s kinda tough to score 30,000 points…

LeBron is on pace to do so. Based on his last 5 years, he has been averaging 2,268 points per season.

Currently he has 12,993 in six seasons. If he can play at the level he has the last 5 seasons and average about 2,268 points for the next 7 seasons, which I think is possible, then that would give him 15,876 points for those next 7 seasons, which would bring his 13 year career total to 28,869. This means he would only need to score 1,131 points after his 13th year assuming he can stick with the current scoring pace he has been on for the next 7 years.

Even still, he entered the league young and should be able to play 15+ years (total) in the league and all at a very high level. So he could be off on that scoring pace and still attain 30,000.

looks comfortable with the ball on the perimeter, but he also seemed much more like a typical big man who will play primarily on the inside. He has plenty of upside because he has great hands and touch on his shots. Thanks for the tapes.

True. So let me do this then. I’m going to add the points Kobe scored after his 6th season to what LeBron has scored up to now (thru 6 seasons).

LeBron so far: 12,993 (6 seasons)
Kobe after 6th season: 15,623 (a total of 7 seasons)

Total: 28,616 points scored (13 seasons)

Kobe’s stats include two seasons with Shaq plus the last year and half with a solid lineup around him. Maybe LeBron will have a better supporting cast for more seasons that Kobe has had recently, but the point I’m trying to make is that even with solid players around LeBron could still get his.

Also, during these 7 seasons Kobe average about 77 games played per season. Now, LeBron has averaged 79 games played his first 6 seasons. Unless LeBron has some major injury, then I think he could easily average 78-79 games played per season for 13 seasons.

I think its also safe to say that as LeBron’s vertical jump declines, other aspects of his game will progress, such as consistency in knocking down the mid-range jumped like Kobe and MJ have done.

I’m not saying there’s no chance but when comparing Kobe, Kobe really did not start alot his 1st 2 seasons and he still had more then LeBron is 6 seasons? wow.

I mean right now, we are kinda seeing the best of LBJ and at 24….what else does he have to improve on? I mean, i think he can be in that range but i wanna see the legs in about 2 seasons. If they are still there, then I dont see any reason why he wont be in the 30k range.

But unaznized is correct. I was simply taking LeBron’s career points (six seasons) and adding them to Kobe’s career after his first six seaons (Kobe has played 13 years, so that would mean I was taking his prior 7 seasons points scored).

I was just trying to show that if LeBron has a pace like Kobe has had after Kobe’s first 6 seasons then he could still reach 30,000 pretty easily.
