PsychoTforPresidentParticipantWho do you think could be a darkhorse candidate to win ROY? A top 5 pick cannot be considered, strictly pick 6 or beyond?
What Player from the second round or undrafted would you pick for ROY with reason?
My answers
Darkhorse ROY: Earl Clark
2nd rounder ROY: Chase Budinger, with Yao down I am looking for the rockets to run n gun more this year which would fit Chase’s abilities and allow him to attack or spot up from down town.0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/05/2009 - 5:58am #196168

FastAndFuriousParticipantDarkhorse: Brandon Jennings

R-Dot-13ParticipantBrandon Jennings.
Chase Budinger0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/05/2009 - 5:59am #196170

R-Dot-13ParticipantBudinger: Because of injuries to Yao and T-Mac he will get tons of minutes, and he probably shouldnt have dropped so low because he has great skills, and he will be on a mission to prove that this year.

MagikKnickParticipantIf David Lee doesnt re-sign with the Knicks, you gotta watch out for Jordan Hill
Also, i personally think Jrue Holiday sucks, but he’ll get some decent minutes with the lack of Andre Miller
How about Wayne Ellington? Q-Rich and him are the only SGs on the Wolves roster, so he should get a good amount of playtime..
Also, has a 2nd round pick every won ROY? But I think you can also include Jodie Meeks, if Michael Redd goes down, he’ll get some playtime behind Charlie Bell

sakuragi84ParticipantI was thinking Blair or Jennings as well. They both seem like they have that little extra to prove and have the ability to back it up. Budinger would fall into that category as well but I just don’t see him making ROY for some reason.

CordellHatleyParticipantJames Johnson I just love his game. And with Ben Gordon out of the mix he has the oppurtunity to shot alot of balls. He reminds me of Danny Granger from the Indiana Pacers but with a better post game. He was a steal for the Bulls and should develop into the sidekick that Derrick Rose needed…

billykParticipantSteph Curry….

xbadgerhustlerParticipantMagicKnick,
I definitely agre Ellington is a huge darkhorse just because he’s such a good shooter and he can elevate above guys and knock down the shot… It also doesn’t hurt that there aren’t any other SGs on the squad. Don’t forget about the recently acquired Damien Wilkens though… He might start, just so that we don’t have two rookies starting right away.
QRich is most likely going to be traded.

xbadgerhustlerParticipantI think it’ll be Flynn, Evans, or Jennings (depending on how sessions plays out). I don’t see Blake winning just because of the other guys he has to compete with for shots, minutes etc.
Gator, I’d take Holiday off that list. He’s not ready to be an impact player just yet. He will be solid though.

gatorheelsParticipantOut of the three SFs that the Pistons drafted I think Summers is going to have the biggest impact this year. He will be the backup to Prince & should see some playing time. He would be a good sleeper pick.
At one time I thought Casspie could have a chance but he appears to be to raw to make an impact this season. He probably will see very limited playing time.
Most likely the darkhorse ROY will be one these PGs since all 4 of them should get a lot of playing time….Jennings, Curry, Holiday, Flynn
I do think Jordan Hill could possibly surprise. Playing in that system he should be able to rack up some easy baskets, rebounds, & blocks.
Overall I think Blake Griffin is going to win ROY but if I had to pick a darkhorse then I would lean towards Jennings.

Toronto16ParticipantI’ll say DeMar DeRozan. He has two play makers on his team that will set him up a lot to score.

xbadgerhustlerParticipantDeMar is WAY too raw folks… don’t hop on his bandwagon because he got hot in March. He still has a long way to go.

Cosgrove03ParticipantJonny Flynn or Wanye Ellignton bc they are going to play a lot for the twolves.

dwat4444ParticipantBeabois or however you pronounce that…Should be good for Dallas especially since Kidd is goin to get less and less minutes so whatch out for him
0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/05/2009 - 8:16am #196315
xbadgerhustlerParticipantdwat, don’t forget that JET often moves over to the point once JKidd sits…
0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/05/2009 - 9:08am #196364

R-Dot-13ParticipantBeaubois will be good in the future, but he will not be the ROY because he plays behind Kidd, he will still get minutes, but he will be way better when he takes over teh starting job from kidd .
