AreopogusParticipantIt will all be dependent on who decides to leave.
UNC could have
1) Deon Thompson (second round), 2) Tyler Zeller (if he regains his pre-injury form; first round), 3)John Henson (Lottery), 4) Ed Davis (Lottery), 5) Dexter Strickland (if he lives up to the hype; first round), 6) Marcus Ginyard (second round).
Thompson and Ginyard will be seniors and second round locks. Davis will leave so UNC will have at least 3 and as many as 6 if two freshmen bolt. A lot of people forgot about Tyler Zeller because he broke his wrist in the second game of the year and came back basically to be foul fodder for the championship run. If he gets his confidence back he will be a solid first round pick. 7 foot Center who is pretty athletic and threw down some nice dunks in the first 2 games. He did get the start in front of Davis at the start of the year when Hansbrough was hurt…..
Larry Drew II has a lot to prove and right now would probably not even be drafted. They claim he was just not confident in himself and that he’s a better passer than Lawson was so we’ll see. Leslie McDonald has good size for a 2 guard but wasn’t a Micky D guy so he’s probably going to need 3-4 years to mature into a good enough player to be drafted. Wear Twins have a shot to be late first to early second picks but I don’t think they came to UNC in a loaded front court to leave early. They look like 3-4 year players and may have chosen UNC by promising Roy that if they come here instead of UCLA that he could play them after Thompson/Davis/Henson are gone.
So I’m going with UNC; Roy is just an amazing recruiter
EDIT:
Another note about Zeller leaving next year if he plays well and has good stock. He had a medical redshirt that he revoked to come back. He never intended on staying 4 years or he would’ve taken it. I think his initial plan was to see what his stock was after last year and with the injury he got set back on his plans 1 year. If he plays well and becomes a solid rebounder and dunker (he has a decent fade away too) then his stock might soar because of his good size. If not this year he will be gone next year (2011).

But I think the team that will have the most prospects in 2010 is still Texas.

quincey hodgesdexter strickland??..thats a big negitive..hes good but not that good after one year..same with tyler zeller..and ginyard is not a second round lock..and the wear twins arent even mentioned in draft talk..as far as amazing recruiter id say hes pretty good..its not to hard to recruit at kansas and nc the school pretty much recruits for you

AreopogusParticipant1) I made an argument against the Wear twins, not for. They are solid PF size and both have good enough handles to play the 3. They aren’t going to declare; I was just saying they are draft material–just not next year.
2) Dexter Strickland is a 6’3″ guard who can burn up the nets and play both guard positions. He could make it late first, early second if he chose to declare. Next to John Henson, his the 2nd best recruit coming into UNC next year.

I doubt he would bolt, but you never know with kids these days.
3) Ginyard is 6’5″, can play the 1/2/3 and in college has played the 4, is a great defender. He’s a prototypical second rounder. He will be a star again next year at UNC so his stock will go up on draft boards like it was before his injury (and he dropped off)
4) I doubt Zeller will bolt because after next year he will be the focal Center. He will have a hard time because Davis improved last year and he got hurt and didn’t get a chance to get better. He’s more suited to the 2011 class, but again, you never know. If he gets a promise in the first round he might go.
If I were guessing, UNC will have 4 picks next year. I don’t know who the fourth will be. I was just postulating that as many as 6 COULD legitimately declare, although it might not be in their best interest.

McWinningParticipanti think he will have a breakout year. he has a lot of talent and i think he could be alot like Paul Harris their both undersized, and sneak into the draft. (unlike Harris)

JNixonParticipantPaul Harris was undersized, but at least he played on the wing. Gary Johnson is way too undersized to play in the NBA, and Texas has James and Pittman taking a vast majority of the shots for the frontcourt. He will average at the most 8 ppg.

quincey hodgesive watched dexter strickland in hs ..hes a undersized shooting guard…hes no better a scorer then the other top hs shooting guards in his class..he maybe has a chance in 2-3 years but hes not close to a one and done..ginyard is alright but there are many other shooting guards in college who can play multiple positions who are better then him…ive always watched the wear twins and neither is a small foward..maybe one day they can be in a couple years but they arent close to it right now..watching these players in person shows you what there games is really like..youtube pretty much just shows highlights mostly against inferior competition

gatorheelsParticipantI’m saying Kansas is going to have the most draft picks. I think they are going to win it all. Every year it seems the team that wins it all has a bunch of players drafted. It is kind of hard to predict who exactly will be drafted next year off this team but out of Aldrich, Collins, Little, Taylor, Morris Twins, Henry, all the other freshman etc…

Birdman: Paul Harris did have some ability from outside 10 feet, and he had point forward skills. He has/had a better future in basketball than Johnson

quincey hodgesnope dont think he was raw at all…raw is when you are still developing youre skills but you are far behind everyone else. paul wasnt raw he just wasnt as good as people thought he was gonna be. his game hasnt gotten much better since his freshman year to be honest with you which is why he wasnt drafted

McWinningParticipanti agree Paul Harris has a better future. (i see him as the same kind of player Dahntay Jones), but Paul Harris has an awful jumpshot worse that Gary Johnsons, and the reason Paul Harris Harris has a better perimiter game is because hes a guard. Gary Johnsopns a sf/pf. i know Gary Johnson will never be a special player but i think hell be a second rounder.

Celtics341I saw Harris play. He is never gonna get a jumper. I’m sorry, I dont see it. Gary Johnson is gonna be a late 2nd rounder. He needs to extend his range and he can be a interesting prospect.

JNixonParticipantIm telling you, Gary Johnson is not an NBA player. How many players have played in the post at 6’6 220 in the NBA? You guys mustve been the same people that said Levance Fields couldve made the Orlando Magic lol….
And Paul Harris was raw when he was a freshman, he’s alot better now than he was back then. He didnt even have a good freshman yr, he wouldve bolted if he did. He couldnt dribble the ball more than nonce without losing control back then, and I saw him running the point sometimes at Syracuse at times last yr. But at the end of the day, neither one of these guys are NBA players

quincey hodgespaul used to run the point and sg while in highschool as well as other positions..i remeber seeing him at the abcd camp and he was running the point in many games…his game pretty muhc hasnt changed since then..he was athletic then and a good defender but he couldnt shoot and he still cant.as far as gary he cant do any worst then paul since paul was a after though during the draft whihc he would have been if he came out after his freshman or soph year
