Better aging Superstar

Dirk all day. You never lose shooting ability, but you lose athleticism.

Right now, I have to take Dirk. KG got injured and you never know if that injury is going to take is athletic ability. Since that is a big part of his game, it will take him a minute to learn to play without it.

Kevin Garnett will go down as one of the 50 greatest players to ever play this game. I can’t say the same for dirk.

I’d take Dirk because his game isnt that reliant on athleticism, which will pay dividends as he gets older. Most big guys that are over the hill play in the mid-range, which just so happens to be a legendary area of strength for Dirk.

You must be an idiot!!!! Are you even serious? Redick is hands down one of the best shooters in the league. You act like he lost his shot or something. Seriously? You’re not taking into context what it is like to be Redick now. He’s a guy who is put in a tough situation, because he can’t defend his position. He gets few minutes in any game. For instance, how would you like to come into a game after sitting on the bench for an hour and half (breaks in the action) and then be expected to come in a just be able to hit a three like its easy. IT’S NOT! They’re not many guys in the history of the league who could do what Redick is being asked to do. The ones who could do it, had other abilities to their advantage. For instance, Steve Kerr could actually bring the ball up the court. If you put Redick in a gym and let him shoot jumpers, he shoots nearly as good as any of the best shooters in the league, if not better. You’re lack of understanding the game will inhibit the amount of knowledge you can gain when trying to understand it.

KG is a player who is successful because of drive and athleticism, so he should atleast be decent for quite some time. (injuries are another story though)

Dirk will always have his shot, he may just lose his ability to get his shot so easily.

Dirk. hes the better scorer and an underrated defender, ot a good defender but decent.

I wouldn’t underrate his career achievements at all. He is still young enough to win a championship, although he would have to leave dallas IMO sorry dallas fans. But he is the greatest player in the history of thier franchise and to my knowledge the most succesful of any European import in the games history. MVP and a trillion all star games dont hurt. I bet he is a first ballot hall of famer.
At this point, I think I would take Dirk over KG. I think KG is a lil older, and as mentioned depends more on athleticism. He is coming off what they were trying to cover us was actually a serious knee injury. His smarts and toughness wont go anywhere, but he is going to gradually be changing his game to more of a slow pace.
Dirk is nowhere near the defender or rebounder, but he led a team to the finals mostly by himself, and can be a dominant scorer. I see him lasting longer moving forward and he has no injury question marks really. I have alot of respect for KG so this is definately a tough choice. I think KG had the better career and was a greater player, but I also suspect that he is probably closer to over the hill than Dirk.

KG has a nice mid range jumper, thats his bread and butter…..I would take Dirk because of Garnetts knee injury but if they are both healthy I would take an aging Garnett…

thats an easy question,,,,KG by far,,,i would take defense and intensity over that “jump shot” any time,,,

dirk scores 25 pts. and gives up the same on the other end. i would prefer a lockdown defender, great floor leader and intense guy on the court, fierce inside over a 7’0″ soft PF who pretends he’s a SG, hollering fadeaway 3’s.

no jj reddick is not one of the best shooters in the leauge..he was one of if not the best shooter in college basketball but so far that has not translated to the leauge..you can never say someone is the best this or that because of what they did in college if they havent shown it in the leauge
