spokomptonkdubParticipantPG- Gary Payton- You could see him flappin’ his mouth all game long just watchin him on tv
SG- Michael Jordan- Talked smack all game long, but he’s the greatest and could back it up every night
SF- Larry Bird- “I’m gonna get the ball right here and shoot it in your face and win the game”, nuff said
PF- Dennis Rodman- His battles with The Mailman were fun to watch
C- Shaq- I don’t know if he talks on the court like he does to the media, but he’s definitely not shy about expressing his views

festar35ParticipantFrom what Magic Johnson said Larry Bird, MJ and Reggie Miller were all massive trash talkers.

kong47272ParticipantReggie Miller is in the top 5 for sure, his trash talking with the Knicks fans (and Spike Lee in particular) in the 90’s when the Pacers and Knicks went head to head multiple times in the playoffs was always a headline story

D HampParticipantEric Devendorf may be the biggest trash talker of all-time. It’s probably the reason he didn’t get drafted. He’ll hit a three-point shot or shoot a fancy layup and he’ll scream F… you all the up the floor. Or he’ll hit a game-winning shot and jump on a scores table and yell F….you to the 28,000 in attendence inside Madison Square Garden. He had swagger, but boy he was a trash talker.
Dhamp…the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.

FutureoftheGameLarry Bird. He used to say “man, you coach really doesnt like you” to they guy guarding him. When the guy asked why he would respond with “because he is making you guard me.” The guy was in WV to speak in the Coal Classic on year and my dad and I hung out with him in a local gym. We were just shooting around and talking. I was in highschool at the time and he was currently coaching the Pacers, i think. Anyway, we ended up playing one on one and he talked shit to me in front of everyone there. He killed me too. He never shot a layup. He sat back and drained threes in my face. He constantly was saying, ” how are you playing in highschool?? Im almost 60 and you cant d me up.” It was rediculus.

bballdave3ParticipantReggie Miller recalled his encounter with Larry Bird’s legendary trash talking ability in his book “I Love Being The Enemy”. Reggie tried to disrupt Larry’s concentration when he was shooting free throws late in a game. Larry glared at him, made the first free throw and said, “Rook, I am the best fucking shooter in the league. In the league, understand? And you’re up here trying to fucking tell me something?” Then Larry buried the second free throw.
Haha larry bird all day

WildDudeParticipantI too was surprised Ron Artest wasn’t mentioned but it may be because he doesn’t talk too much, he’s more of a physical trash talker rather than verbally…

FutureoftheGameTrash talking involves some verbal contact. That means talking, not playing.

sameolGParticipantKevin Garnett would talk alot of trash to himself too lol but he plays with so much passion he just jaws with everything on the court, refs, teammates, opponents, himself coaches…EVERYBODY.. but no one does it like Gary Payton though, he’d talk like he wanted to fight you

MuggsyParticipantI seen something about this a few years back, they asked many NBA players who talked the most trash, almost everyone said Gary Payton.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 08/01/2009 - 9:25am #194146
redbaboonParticipantfor sure, isn’t he the all time leader in tech’s. But his trash-talking is more to the refs.
