thetruthParticipantafter this season. they need too. lets be honest here. we know dirk can shoot, and spread the floor. but hes 7ft and hes playing like a 6 ft 9 dude. hes not mental tough. see the finals vs miami and first round vs golden state. now i know he sells tickets. but dallas is not gonna win a title no time soon. with the lakers, blazers, jazz , spurs, hell even the thunder is gonna get better.an if you think about it dirk is gonns be 32 next year, so you gonna tell me if mr cuban so called wants to win so bad hes not gonna even look into trading dirk. i think dallas should do it. clear the cap space and make a run at chris bosh a dallas native right? what do you think.

Knicksboy34ParticipantI would trade Dirk to Golden State and see if you can get Randolph

xbadgerhustlerParticipantMark Cuban would marry Dirk if it was legal in Texas… they could be daddy’s of that CRAZY b!tch’s child
the mavs would have to trade like 10 other ppl to get under the cap far enough to sign bosh… read something about the salary cap

FrankBlackBoidallas needs a new point guard who can score and also pass and that is not jason kidd. i think dallas should talk to new jersey and ask for devin harris again. jason kidd is done

xbadgerhustlerParticipantlol, the 10 players comment was embedded with a LITTLE sarcasm- in reference to how far over the cap Dallas is…
LOL, all dallas needs to do is… trade dirk, howard, and terry… hahaha that’d be soooooo worth it. you’re right dwight… i’m wrong

RickyRubio9ParticipantIs a free agent coming into the Summer of 2010 I believe. No need, go get Bosh then. Let a number 2 option lead your team into the Finals. OH WAIT, wasn’t Dirk called a number two in another post or not a Franchise Player…Nonsense.
They love Dirk in Dallas, I live in Texas, I think I’d know. He got them as close as they ever been and YES I know close doesn’t cut it. I know he is old, so why not let him walk, you are right. Maybe he’ll get his Ring as a number 2 option then. He has 2-3 good years left anyways.0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/27/2009 - 7:32pm #191660

auberParticipantDirk is going nowhere. Cuban would blow him to keep him in Dallas.

RickyRubio9ParticipantCuban doesn’t want him to leave…

CLYDE-frazier10Participantwtfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
26ppg 8rebs 89% freethrow shooting
and calling him number 2 option. ive never heard someone say that a top5 scorer was a seccond option. This Shhit make me really mad. He might not be defensive monster, but hes a perennial allstar and hes the best pf in league. with marion kid jterry howard dirk how arnt they in contention for title. anything could hapen when you make playoffs.
as far as the teams u said before
utah if they trade booze their in contention
spurs manu who knows is manu stays healthy, if not thier not winning
LA if they dont sign odam theyll be replacing ariza and odam for artest, artest averaged 16ppg 5rebs 3asts 2steals odam averaged 11 8 3 1steal 1 block off the bench not to mention what ariza did in playoffs and matchup problems odam causes…..their not going o be same without odam but with them thier favorites
blazers r good team but young right now
and thunder r too young0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/27/2009 - 7:53pm #191686

RickyRubio9ParticipantI forgot who said he isn’t a Franchise Player and whatnot…but I just think it’s crazy talk. You are definetely right on those other teams. In the West every team has it’s questions including Dallas, but what if their season goes good enough and they start to gel right before the playoffs while other teams have key players breaking down which has happened before.
Spurs had T.D and Manu break down…
The Thunder are just way too young…but the Etan Thomas trade helps. B. Mullens won’t be pressured anymore.
Mavs need J.Howard to get back to his All-Star year status…Dirk has to be really good and other stuff like J.Kidd keeping the defense honest, Barea being a solid backup as well as Jet coming off the bench and playing superb. Gooden and Thomas will be both nice signings and Marion will probably play the three moving Howard to the 2.0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/28/2009 - 4:50am #191775
sakuragi84ParticipantFuture Knick, Dirk is better as a number 2 option just like Pau Gasol. Pau had good numbers with the Grizzles but by the way they play, you know you’d rather have them as a number 2. Both Pau and Dirk (and Bosh IMO) are all great PF but at the end of the day, I generally don’t want them to take the last shot. But if I were to choose from those 3, I would pick Dirk. He has the most range from his shot.

McWinningParticipantkeep him and go after Joe Johnson, next year, or Ramon Sessions this year.

deshawynkeys91Participantthats what is wrong with basketball… PEOPLE THAT JUST LOOK AT NUMBERS!!!
Dirk is a solid OFFENSIVE player but he is not the best pf in the nba… HELLO k. garnett = WINS and TITLES!!!!!
The worst thing to ever happen to sports is FANTASY SPORTS… i’m sorry but give me k. garnett any day of the week before dirk… give me c. billups any day of the week before s. nash ( and i’m talking about when he was a m.v.p caliber player). this has to be one of the most frustrating things about sports is ppl looking at numbers and they telling me that player x is better than player y…. WHY?? answer= LOOK AT THERE NUMBERS
COME ON PPL…. lets be better than that and start using are eyes/brains

FutureoftheGameFor the guy who gave a roster and then said “how do they not contend for a title” Where is their big man?? Is Dirk going to start at the C, with Marioin at PF, Howard at SF, Terry at SG, and Kidd at PG. That is possibly the weakest team in the NBA. The old saying that “defence wins championships” doesnt apply here and niether does the one that says “size wins championships”. IMO. Dirk should be number 2 option, and he needs a hoss beside him in the paint.

notacowParticipantBecause dirking is harder to do when you’re older?
