the microwaveParticipantI know tinsley is a head case, but he is a good passer, and has a knack for getting steals. If its a small contract im going with Tinsley because he is the best distributor of the two, also would be small risk in this case.
I dont know ton about watson. Any Feedback?

the microwaveParticipantTrue ty for the Feedback.. Any idea how old Watson is?? I know tinsley is 30.. If tinsley is signed for one yr i can handle that, but if there thinking 2-3 yr deal then i hope watson is the choice – despite my lack of knowledge on his gm

llperezIs an excellent defender and overall floor general. He pushes the ball well in full court and and makes sound decisions. He is a subpar shooter, but he does’nt hesitate to take open looks when given to him. He is also a better athlete then Tinsley. I thought he signed in Indiana though, or was that not final?

JNixonParticipantYea he’s 30 as well

JNixonParticipantHe’s a good passer too (but not as good as Tinsley) and he’s a better athlete, defender, and shooter than Tinsley. He can get to the rim. And he isnt a head case like Tinsley. I’d rather have Watson even though Tinsley’s more naturally talented, because Watson is hard working and better at everything except passing.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantI’d rather have tinsley……because he is just better in most aspect of the game, the only reason that will sound true that people will choose watson over tinsley, is that tinsley is a headache, and nobody wants to deal with a headache.

llperezWatson is a much better defensive player and overall athlete then Tinsley. Tinsley has more overall skills as a pg, but I would take Watson at this point.

JNixonParticipantJamaal Tinsley isnt better than Watson at anything except creating for teammates.

the microwaveParticipantthis is from philly.com
The 76ers, continuing their search for a veteran point guard, are discussing former Indiana Pacers starter Jamaal Tinsley as a possibility. According to a source familiar with the Sixers’ situation, they also are considering taking a fresh look at Golden State Warriors restricted free agent C.J. Watson.

the microwaveParticipantbtw cj watson is 25 you might be thinking of Earl…

JNixonParticipantCJ Watson already rejected philly’s offer and he’s looking at Orl now.

llpereztake back everything I said. I thought this was about Earl Watson. lol.

IndianaBasketballParticipantIf the 76ers are looking for a “veteran” point guard, then Tinsley should be their man over Watson. Tinsley is an overall better player. I’ve never had a problem with Tinsley as a player. He just needs to focus more on conditioning and staying out of those strip clubs lol. I wish him luck though.

JNixonParticipantOh yea your talking about CJ WATSON! Lol…CJ Watson is a scoring PG, and he is better than Tinsley at everything as well except passing

the microwaveParticipantphillys offer to Watson was for 1 yr, he wants longer….. That was a wk ago.. Hes still in there mix..

MallStax5Participantif t comes down to Tinsley/Watson
you have to go with Watson.
he is the veteran they need and tinsley has too many caracter problems.
if they bring in a veteran its to mentorHoliday/Williams
not do be the future point.
thats why tinsley isnt good.0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/23/2009 - 7:41am #188485
ckowalskiParticipantDude I don’t think you can call Watson a veteran. Yea he’s been in the League but he’s done next to nothing while he has been in it. Tinsley is already getting paid, you could probably sign him on the cheap, he is a real veteran PG, and he’s been a part of a team that knows how to win. Whatever character issue he might or might not have he can still ball.

j1232eParticipantphilly should look at earl watson, solid backup, better than cj watson. I dont now if tinsley will change his attitude if he does could be a good pick up.
