    Your an NBA Power Forward.
    a star at that.
on track to be one of the best PF’s ever.
    7 year veteran
    age 27

your team is ok. but you never made it too the conference finals always lost in the first/second round.

this is your last season until your contract is up
    your making 9 mil.

your team goes 46-36. 6th in the west
    loses in the 1st round.

you averaged 23 pts. 11 rebs. 2 blocks per game
your gm comes up and says,
hey we are going to get you help. please dont leave.

    than this teams calls.
they finished 49-33…3rd in the east.
    lost in the conference finals.
they are alomst there they are lacking a solid post presence

they have 12 mil in cap space and they wanna give that all too you because there veteran PF left who was making 10 mil.

they offer you a 4 year deal worth 48 mil.

your team, because they had 3 mil in cap space left plus you left so now 13 mil added on a player who left that was making 5 mil so 18 mil in free agent money

they signed what you wanted. another scorer . he plays SG and has signed for 4yrs 28 mil at age 28.

now they come back and offer you 5 yrs 65 mil..

experts say if you go to the east team, they are the favorite to win the champoinship.
they say if you stay..maybe conference finals but no champoinship

    what do you do?

I would stay, i like the addition and I think that adding another piece the following season would make us a championship favorite. Besides they actually went out to get me help, they will listen to my demands for another guy if we don’t win it this year.

I relish a challenge. If I am really one of the best pf’s ever I will take over and carry this team on my back.

i wish more ppl would comnt this post though.
it could sprk some great debates.
but idk it all depends maybe id stay because he is young but than again i hate long contracts so id prolly go east.
also depends on the cities because there are about 6 cities i would never play for

I think in this situation I would stay. I hate it when player’s show no loyalty to their prospective teams. They did as they promised and got you help and hopefully another scoring option to help take on the load. Experts are just people the same as us that have wedged their way into a money making position based on their opinion, so you can never really rely on what they say haha. Stay and prove yourself to be the best and take on the greater challenge. Plus, you make more money staying…

What are the 6 you wouldn’t play for?

I wouldn’t like MN, LAC, OKC, GS, or NO in no particular order

    A few reasons:

    a) My current team, If I am that good, the town would love me, and It would be a great honor to steer the team to the championship.
    b) They mgmt showed that they would make a move to get better
    c) 65 Mil is way better than 48 mil. My contract would be up, and I would probably not get re-signed at $17 mil a year at the age of 31/32 (depending on my birthday).
    d) I know the system, they know me, I would probably do better staying in a system that works.
    e) If I’m 27/28 I might have kids, and would like to keep their lives consistent (assuming i like their friends).
    f) 3rd in the east is not a good enough reason to switch teams.
    g) A championship is a great accomplishment, but it loses some appeal if you ditch your teammates to chase “the precious.”

P.S. MallStax5, I’d give you a point on this one if I could.

The contract is slightly better to stay and I would be the leader who stuck with a franchise wich is always nice.

This sounds a little like Amare and his situation with the Suns, but I could be wrong.

If I was in this position, I’m staying because I atleast know that I’ll be the man, and whatever fortune my team has, whether good or bad, would fall on my shoulders. I don’t know about ya’ll, but I’ll take that challenge any day, plus I’m gettin 65 mil to do it? It’s gravy to me

I’d stay, your team is obviously building with you in mind for the future and its a better contract.

Also experts can be wrong, no one was talking about Orlando reaching the finals before the season began, it was all Cavs or Boston. Your team is improving and you are just hitting your prime so whose to say you can’t make the finals this year?

I mean sometimes you gotta be loyal. If the team can promise me they are committed to winning then I’ll stay.

These posts remind me of those books written for children where you can create your own story by making decisions at the end of each chapter
