SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantWhat’s good
Been watching every Lakers game this year. Kuzma has been a beast. Shown true Mamba mentality. He reminds me of Klay. Not so much in his demeanor or playing style. But his road to the league, his impact on his team/game and of course being light skinned.
B.I. had a shoot around interview stating he is not ok with coming off the bench..
Of course you want that mentality that you are the best player. BUT when you are in the media shouldn’t the answer always be “what ever is best for the team to win”. Thoughts? Could we see a mid season trade?

highflyer0ParticipantWell, both BI and Kuzma started today, so competition between those two may not be what sparks a trade. With that said, the Lakers do not look very good right now. I’m not sure how well Ingram fits with Lebron, but BI is probably their best prospect. Rondo is proving to be a strange fit, as he is playing a lot of minutes and I think it is disrupting the rhythm of young guys like Ball and Hart, who both played very well as starters when BI and Rondo were out. Luke Walton will be in trouble if they don’t turn it around soon. Also, Lebron is getting his numbers but he isn’t exactly taking over games like he did in Cleveland. I guess he’s conserving energy but they’ll need more from him (fair or not) if they’re going to make the playoffs.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantHe just has a knack for scoring the ball. He thinks one thing when he is out there on the court and that is how to put himself in position to score. He is the best on the team at moving without the ball. Not a guy you are ever going to really have to run plays for but will just get his buckets in the flow. Has a lot of those funky off balance Antawn Jamison type flip shots in his repitiore. Not sure about the Klay comparison as he isn’t nearly on that level as a shooter. He actually reminds me quite a bit of Cedric ceballos, who put up some big numbers for a few years for the lakers in the 90s.
I’d like to see kuzma round out of his game a little more. He doesn’t really do much besides score out there right now and definitely suffers from tunnel vision at times. Not a good passer at all right now, and could definitely improve his defense. I still like Ingram’s overall upside more and feel he is a much more well-rounded overall player. I like Ingram starting more because I don’t think it really affects kuzma one way or the other and they both will play roughly same amount of mins most games anyway.

MopgrassParticipantTrade Rondo. He’s so wrong for this team’s style of play. He can’t let go of the ball until he’s handing off an assist. It’s totally contrary to the way they want to play. By the time he’s trade eligible, Lonzo will have enough mentoring. Drop Beasley while you’re at it.
What we haven’t seen is Lonzo, Hart, Ingram, James, McGee in a lineup. That team will hit 3’s (well, more often). That keeps only 2 dribble heavy players and Hart’s shooting needs to be there with LeBron. Kuzma’s nearly as good st Hart at shooting, but Hart will be a bigger volume shooter and is a defender that needs to start.
Ingram is getting aggressive on D. He looks great. I think he will eventually be the lone lockdown D guy. Maybe Hart. I think Ingram has a solid shot at being an All-Star this year. Kuzma is so great for today’s offense. He wastes zero time with the ball. He gets it, shoots it, or passes it. He keeps things moving. I like him in the 2nd unit when Lance Stephenson is the PG. They should stick with that.
I’ll be interested to see Mo Wagner return. Zubac just can’t play this type of ball. Just can’t. Williams is a warm body, place holder. I think Mo’s energy with Lance will be fun and he’ll be on the perimeter.

BeastMode716ParticipantI’m fine w/ the media answer – I Like the aggressiveness by Ingram. Kuzma is probably the more natural scorer & better shooter but the Lakers & Lebron expect so much more from Ingram!
We will learn probably by the end of this season if BI can be Lebron’s Robin to his Batman. Kuz is absolutely a Sniper & has that "Mamba Mentality" for sure & I luv them BOTH starting but Ingram is going to facilitate, block shots, be tagged w/ the critical Defensive assignments (which is Crucial to preserve Lebron)
I also believe Ingram will be the stronger player off the dribble. I know we get sick of hearing it but Ingram was SO young when he was Drafted – people forget that Kuzma is OVER 2+ years Older than Ingram! 26 months to be exact – Ingram is Only 55 DAYS older than Lonzo Ball – let that sink in b/c I Luv Kuz but imagine 2+ years of Development at the NBA level
So when Kuz entered the NBA he was a fully grown @ss man! That is why I LUV taking Upper Classman from the NCAA w/ late 1st round & 2nd round picks in the NBA Draft – the guys have experience playing high pressure b-ball in a Big time Program w/ tons of Exposure! Josh Hart is More the 2.5 years Older than Lonzo Ball. These age differences really do matter in terms of maturity & development
So I like Both Kuz & Ingram a ton, play them together & let’s allow the team to grow w/ Lebron & be patient as the season unfolds. We all know that Lebron can’t do a full Rebuild complete w/ Development – the Lakers will add a 2nd Star at some point in the future – but until then let’s enjoy watching them grow together & find their Roles w/ the team

Andv1 WaitingParticipantI will give Walton points for trying things but man he really needs to give Ball the bulk of the minutes over Rondo as they look and play more like a team when he is on the court…Kuzma or Ingram is all dependent on what you want your longterm team to look like to who you move… Kuzma gives you that 2nd or 3rd scorer Ingram gives you move of a two way player with the better Defensive I.Q of the two..With that being said if they have an idea to who they are bringing in either in the offseason or via trade will truly dictate who is moved/Kept…
Personally though I would lol if any of the following happened:
Ball is traded to a team and dominates someone like Minny,Suns,Nuggets or a team that should or is hitting reset like Cavs or Magic..
Ingram, Ball or Kuzma ends up on OKC or Minny due to Butler trade or something of that nature.
Lebron wants another star and gets part of young core traded for it and Walton is fired for TY lue lol
