I’m a Sixers fan, and I’m appreciative of being able to watch Ben and Embiid in Philadelphia. I just can’t get over the fact that we’ve missed on guys like Porzingis, Tatum and last but not least Giannis Antetokounmpo.

I’m watching Simmons come into 2018 again without a jump shot (at all) and see all the buckets he’s leaving on the table. I’m all for him being a facilitator but the game is to put it in the basket and most times his size and speed give him a wayyyy better chance of creating a CLEAN look. So much so that it’s a becoming a disservice that he hasn’t expanded his game since 2014. He is playing the exact same way he played at Montverde. EXACT. He hasn’t improved anything in 4 years.

Back to Giannis who every year is just adding a piece. Whether it be getting stronger, working on his jumper, becoming a de facto point guard, focusing on crashing the boards this year. I really love Ben but if I had the chance I’d trade him for Giannis in a heartbeat. And the funny thing is I think Ben is somehow more naturally talented than Antetokounmpo, but mostly because vision is rare. I honestly think Ben could average the same stats as Giannis right now if he switched to shooting to his right hand. It’s laughable but becomig sad.

Who do you think will have the better career and who would would rather have as your franchises cornerstone? I specifically chose these two because they are both essentially the same height and play “point forward”.

I like everything about Simmons’ game … except for his inability to shoot the basketball. At some point, his career is going to flatten out if he doesn’t improve.

Most of the all-time greats got better and better throughout their career, and that is what I see from Giannis. He has improved, both his skill and his body, getting bigger and stronger, every year.

It’s too early to tell with Ben, but what area of his game looks better right now than last year. He needed to figure out how to make a shot outside of eight feet. Starting at the free throw line. From what I’ve seen so far this season, he might actually be worse.

That’s not good, but he’s still young and we’ll see what happens.

I’d question anyone who’d take Ben Simmons over Giannis right now. I love Ben’s game, but Giannis is stepping into the superstar category.

It’s always hard looking back at drafts and seeing the great players who were passed over. The 2013 draft was particularly bad for most of the lottery teams. Giannis went #15, but in hindsight he undoubtedly would go #1. Rudy Gorbert went #27 in the same draft that had Anthony Bennet going #1.

If Simmons answers to the question why he doesn’t shoot the ball is because he doesn’t have to it’s a mentality thing for me.

That’s why I rather have Giannis who actually got stronger in the off-season and works on his game.

Simmons is coasting on tlaent alone for now, where Giannis also puts in the work.

ANd much of what we all luv about Ben is we assumed he would Develop & expand his game similar to how Giannis has

No Giannis is not a great outside shooter yet but he WILL shoot which Forces teams to defend him & the Greek has become Deadly in that 8 foot area around the Rim w/ Bunnies, & Baby Hooks & Scoops w/ either hand

I expected Simmons to really expand his game this year Finishing around the Rim, trying to draw more fouls to get to the Free Throw line & up his FT% from 55% to just 65% & at least Begin to Shoot 15 footers – I don’t care if he misses ALL of them – just take some shots to keep the Defense honest

IMO Simmons has Not only NOT improved in ANY of those areas – he’s regressed – last night late in the game Simmons had the ball 10 feet from the Rim on the right side & Charlotter literally turned their back on Simmons – he Refused to take the Wide open 10 footer, drove into the land where he’s scared to get fouled b/c it’s late & then Kicked to TJ McConnel at the 3pt line – of course TJ does Not shoot 3’s so he Also passed it – Why McConnell & Simmons are sharing the court is an entirely diff matter

Any way I just do Not see how Phila can succeed when their primary ball handler can be completely ignored in the Half court late in Games – b/c Every playoff game is tight.

Joel Embiid is Dominating Avg 30 pts 13 reb 4 ast & 3 blcks w/ teams Swarming him b/c they shade the player who would Normally have to cover the point guard to Embiid – b/c teams can Completely ignore Simmons

I could go even Deeper – for example, imagine if Embiid had just a Kemba Walker? The inside outside Dominance!

Anyway I digress – comparing Ben & Giannis is utterly Ridiculous b/c I see No evidence that Simmons won’t be the Exact same limited player 5 years from now – Amazing in transition but useless in the half court

all the way, with his motor, you can see he attack relentlessly, simmons attack the basket like an unorthodox swinging his arms like an octopus switching it then finishing. Look at how giannis bullies his defender, he’s taller and have more wingspan maybe that helps him around the basket, but with giannis trajectory, and simmons not adding anything since his rookie year is a testament to giannis motor and work ethic, i would take giannis over simmons anyday, simmons to me is a prima donna, while giannis is humble kid from another country who wants to prove he is  a great ball palyer, nonthing is given to him , he take it
