Hes talking about LA right now saying "they might not make the playoffs". I mean yeah hes saying it as passively as possible but I just dont understand how you put James and Rondo on the floor with all this young talent and can think the Nuggets or someone are gonna take away their playoff seed. Come on.

Webber think his the expert now with that mustache lol, kidding aside I understand his doubt since this is the first time LBJ and rondo is playing together, with all their new additions and young players chemcistry takes time but off all the players LBJ is the last man I’ll doubt and count out

Kind of a bold statement by Webb, but I really think the thing could go either way. To me, the pieces just don’t fit, you have no big man, no shooting, and an odd ball assortment of veterans mixed in with young guys.

I could see them being a 4 seed. Or I could see a complete meltdown.

If you have LeBron you have a chance.

Its going to take some time.

Ball as the 3rd string PG made me happy.

I really like Ingram, but dude looks like he came strait from a Pride Party.

He sucks Balls as a commentator he is biased as F**k Hearing him call the GSW vs OKC series(WCF) was painful at best he rode GSWs nuts the whole time instead of being unbiased and calling both sides..If he has a team that he has played for or hates he rides them over any team.

Lakers should be fine as no-one should could Lebron out of the playoffs at worst they should at least be int 4th-8th seed range baring any freak injuries that is. I see at least 2 of the top 8 last year being iffy at best in the T-wolves(Butler/KAT ish) and Spurs being in no mans land and being better off tanking for a high pick to help restock the cupboard a little…

I’m a huge laker fan and I’m not at all insulted or outraged by him saying that. It’s actually the truth. Sure, they have lebron but this is still a team that’s relying heavily on a lot of inexperienced players with a lot of holes in the overall roster. Considering the depth in the western conference, it could literally take about 48 wins just to make the playoffs at all. That’s far from a sure thing right now.

But I agree with Chris Webber for once, the Lakers are a comical roster of players to be frank

If any other team made the moves the Lakers have this off-season we’d have written that team off by mid July, they signed KCP when they already had Hart, bought in Rondo when you just drafted Lonzo, made Javale McGee a starting Center and are counting on him to last 82 games? You signed Beasley(who I like BTW) when you have Kuzma, than they capped it off by adding Lance Stephenson too?

The Lebron signing allowed everyone to turn the other way while terrible moves were made left right and center…If any other team did this we’d be laughing at them for sure…

They’ve buried the #2 behind a PG that can’t shoot, they’ve added depth to the one position they didn’t need any help in (Sf/Pf) and they added one of the dumbest Centers in the history of the game to anchor their defense

Than we forget to mention the elephant in the room, the overall talent level in the Western Conference, it’s a murderers row of Good to Great Teams…I see them struggling to get a 8th seed

rondo, kcp, lance, mcgee and beasley are all on one year deals. No long term commitment and no overpays. Also they look pretty good for what their expectations are. The young guys are all still getting their minutes. Hart played more then kcp, ball is working his way back to 100%. Mcgee has looked like a solid starting center. Not sure why you hate those moves. They needed to add some vets so lebron wasnt the only one in the locker room who could talk to guys and help them break down stuff. All reports are that rondo has been tremendous in this regard.

The question is….who spot the Lakers take??? Everyone said the Pelicans, they looked good against the Rockets.

The blazers and spurs could regress imo. Minnesota’s situation is fluid right now. And you never know how injuries or trades will affect the overall picture. I sincerely doubt that we will see the same 8 teams as last year make it. But I can almost guarantee that it will take at least 45 wins (possibly more) and there will be at least 2 teams with winning records that don’t get in.

In no particular order I would expect the suns, Mavs, kings, grizz, and clippers to continue to not make the playoffs for another year. They could but itd be a surprise. San Antonio and Minnesota look like they could struggle due to injuries and dysfunction and so everyone else has a good shot. If spurs or wolves rally and get in then the lakers have about as good a chance of falling out of the playoffs as the nuggets, trailblazers, or pelicans.

To be honest, the only team in the west that I see as an absolute lock to make the playoffs is golden state. I’m not even considering Houston to an absolute lock right now. They should make it, but as heavily dependent on cp3 and harden as they are, you never know what will happen if one of them misses significant time.

Can they win at home against most teams? Yes. Will they be able to beat up on the East? I think so. I can also say that about nine other teams in the West. The difference between them and just about every other team in their boat is that the Lakers are covered like an NFL team. For the young Lakers, they have skated on losing in the past. Now, they are going to get real scrutiny. Lonzo is going to have his 2-7 games treated like Eli throwing multiple picks. It will be interesting to see play out.
