First time it happened it HS, i dont remember exactly what happened. Somebody questioned his skillset or ranked Randle #1 or something like that, which in turn made Wiggins mad, next game in HS he had one of his best performances and played like he wanted to kill.

2nd time was his rookie year in the NBA, after being traded from Cle. To Min. and getting butthurt. He met up vs Cle and dropped something like 30 points as a rookie. One of his best performances as a rookie.

This right here shows a lack of consistency and willingness to come through every game.

Is that a red flag? If anything I’d say it’s a positive that he has that competitive fire in him. Now its just a matter of bringing it on a daily basis.

At this point I consider Wiggins is a bust. Where does he rank at number 1 pick in the last 5-7 years. Worst or second to worse…

Well. He’s clearly ahead of Anthony Bennett. Too early to tell with fultz. I still think it’s way too early to label him a bust. Maybe “slight disappointment” is the term I’d choose.

He was the number 1 pick. Hasn’t made the playoffs or and all star game or an all pro team. Look what Devin booker has done in the West. Wiggins at this point in his career is a bust and undeserving of the contract extension he received

Actually booker hasn’t done any of those things yet if that’s the comparison your using. Wiggins did in fact make the playoffs this year.

It is a little bit of a red flag imho.  He has been in the league for 4 years, and he has not lived up to the #1 draft expectations.

He has a career PER of 15.0 which is exactly average.  His career numbers are: FG 44.7%, 3P 33%.  In the playoofs his numbers are worse (PER=11.7).  His numbers also are not getting better and he seems to have plateaued.

It is concerning that he only shreds when he is externally motivated, ie. perceived slight.  A great player is internally motivated and wants to shred every day, game in and game out.  E.g. – Kobe, MJ, Lebron, Kawhi, etc…

Wiggins was one of the most hyped players in high school and college that we have seen in a long time.  For being viewed as a basketball jesus and being drafted #1 overall, he has been a disappointment so far.  A bust? Not really.  But definitely has not lived up to the hype.  And, based on his numbers which are very average, I don’t see him becoming more than he already is.

He isn’t really a player suited to be a third option. He is a scorer. He isn’t a great shooter, defender, rebounder, creator, or someone who brings the intangibles. To further the problem, when he was getting the touches and shots of a primary/secondary scorer, Minnesota won 29 and 31 games. He got paid off that, but that contract makes it difficult to move him. I suppose if a team, like Brooklyn, doesn’t fill up in free agency in 2019, Wiggins might be someone they pursue. Then again, Minnesota probably doesn’t move him until they have more certainty from Butler and Towns.

Maaan, qll those young players need more touches.

I really dont like what Thibs is doing as far as ball sharing.

I partly blame Wiggins because he has no intention of asking for the ball

I went to go see Heat vs Min, and Teague ruined the game because he thinks hes better than he is.

I honestly think a great way to lite a fire under him would be to bench him & put him in a 6th man role.
Seems like he would hate that and it wouldn’t have to be a whole season, but just long enough for him to realise that if he ain’t going to give 100% each game he could lose his starting spot.

He would do some damage to the 2nd units out there.

I beleive he’s underacheived to this point in his career, his trajectory seems to be heading towards a Carmelo anthony type career minus at least to this point any accolades that Carmelo acheived. He needs to show more fire and desire but a bust no! a huge dissapointment perhaps! He’s got a chance in the next few years to show he’s at least an all star or win something not sure he’ll do that, he’s a scorer who shows no consistancy or mental desire to be great! Too Bad.

Today Wiggins can’t hold a candle to Melo. Melo has his flaws….. but he was a certifiable 26pt & 7reb guy & number 1 option on playoff teams. Legit 12-time all star, 6-time all nba performer. Wiggins has a loooooooonnnng ways to go to get to that level

Even though I just made a thread about Wiggins lost potential and a possible fresh start, I’m starting to think that hes going to be 38 on the bench and were still going to be like MAN THIS GUY HAS SUCH A HIGH CEILING IF HE EVER GETS A WORK ETHIC OOOO BOYYYYY LOOOK OUTTT

Minnesota should lock up Butler long term and trade Wiggins for Otto Porter.
