Miko4rm206ParticipantThere has been talks/rumours that Durant will give OKC a long look after the season. Teaming back up With Russ to give the People/Fans of OKC a championship.
Me personally Although I’m a OKC/Sonic fan the Team and Durant should leave that door close. I like where OKC is at as A Team currently. And Durant is building to his legacy and will be one of the greatest along with LeBron. Why BackTrack?? Whats in it for Durant?? It’s not his Home team like the reason why LeBron went Back to the cavaliers to win a Title. It’s not even the organization/city that drafted him initially. And he Is already at the Top of the Mountain in Golden State…
He could team up with LeBron and LA next season. Which would make a Little more sense. Get 1 more ring with Golden State. Him and LeBron will be at 3 apiece. And then just build a Whole new Era with LeBron. They will both Probably be Consider 1A and 1B literally when we look back on both of their careers. OR
Stay with Golden State. Yes it’s Curry’s team and he will always have 1 more championship then Him. But That’s the best place to stack up on championship, A Solid Market and He will the edge over Lebron More than Likely as Best player of this era depending on how many rings he can realistically win.
Dark horse. Take Klay or Kyrie maybe even Jimmy Butler to The Knicks And Try to build up a Franchise on his own. I think I like this idea best. Kyrie, KD and Kp. They will be known as the new "KKK" . And will be a serious contender as well especially in the east.
Thoughts?? Where will be the best place for KD to end his career. Which move would be best for his Legacy. Can/Could he surpass LeBron as the best player of this era??

220ParticipantTrying to dub anything the KKK to make it cool in the US would be like trying to reuse the swastika around Jewish people, it wouldn’t go over well.

HitsterParticipantKD got stick for going to OKC, he’d get the same for going to the Lakers with LBJ. Back to OKC would be hard with Westbrook, PG13 and Adams all locked in.
I think of GSW as much as being KD’s team as Steph’s team. KD was been finals MVP and won the title in both seasons there. LBJ was one title down on D-Wade all his time at Heat too.
KD may be attracted to the Knicks but using the initials of a racist organization in relation to a sport played and supported by a lot of black people isn’t clever. If you were trying to be ironic then it sadly failed.

Miko4rm206ParticipantKKK- Kristaps, KD and Kyrie will definitely be Killin other Niggas on the Court lol. I thought it would be A Cool and Funny nickname to Run with.
I can see where someone might be offended and Sorry if anybody else is. But the irony of Someone with a Profile Picture of Hitler and the name Hitster will be the 1st to comment about that. The Irony.. Did I miss anything??

mowestenParticipantWhat, are they going to come out of tunnel during pregame wearing white hoods? There’s no chance any professional sports organization would ever allow this, and the minute they tried, one or all of them would be traded or outright released to stop it.
You would essentially have one professional sports league with several players taking a principled stand at great risk to their careers in protest against racial injustice, and a rival sports league making a mockery of it. That would not be tolerated. Ever.
There are some things in American society that shouldn’t be treated dismissively or lightheartedly, and this is one of them.

Miko4rm206ParticipantYeah Kristaps would definitely Get shot for Coming out in a Knicks KKK hood. It would have To Be Kyrie, KD and Kevin Knox …
Why stop there. Just hang rope to a tree and add net for their Home basketball courts. I’m sure that will be a Hit

Miko4rm206ParticipantThat’s the History of our United States period when the Crackers arrived to America. Look at our President! Which I’m Pretty sure a Majority of the people on here voted for. And support " Make America great again" slogan
When has America ever been great?? America always dealt with Racism, Segregation, Inequalities, Injustice and Violence from the get go with the native americans, Blacks, Asians, Latinos whoever. "If it ain’t white it’s not Right"
And then when a Person of color actually makes Light of the situation. By giving a Make Hypothetical super team KKK all the Crackers get offended lol it’s Hilarious to me. The privilege of being white I guess.
Food for thought. Neg that…

treytalkssports.comParticipantPeople do realize teams have to abide something called a salary cap, right? It’s not a suggestion or a budget. It’s a restriction.
Neither OKC nor the Knicks have the ability to get Durant. OKC really cannot. They’d have to work a sign-and-trade that sent back equal salary. GSW won’t want that much salary if they don’t get a player like Durant. Schroeder, Adams, Roberson, Grant ain’t getting that done.
The Knicks would need to trade one of Noah or Hardaway just to have enough space to sign Durant to a max. Then they’d have to trade the other and Lee to open enough space for another. To clear that much space will require trading at least 2 first round picks, and probably one (or maybe two) of Knox, Frankie, or Robinson.
Then, you are relying on Zinger to have good health, and you still have no role players.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/29/2018 - 9:30am #1123225

Miko4rm206ParticipantNo… People Realize that there’s a Salary cap. But when a Top 2 player in the league wants to come to your Organization you move Contracts around, Sign Vets to Mins, Get more Young players on rookie contracts. Much like the Heat in past years, GSW, Celtics and Rockets now. It can be done.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/29/2018 - 11:19am #1123229
treytalkssports.comParticipantAgreed. If a player really wants to. But there are two problems:
1) The very reason a player like Durant might want to go to New York would be because of the potential to legitimately challenge in the East. If the Knicks can’t open enough space for a second player, I doubt Durant wants to.
2) The Knicks would absolutely clear the space to get him, but you have to understand that clearing the space will require emptying your entire cupboard, including most your draft picks and young players. The team left would probably be:
Durant
Irving or Butler or Walker
Porzingis
Knox or Frankie or Robinson
???
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/29/2018 - 11:47am #1123230

Miko4rm206ParticipantCourtney Lee and Tim hardaway Jr’s contracts are both movable @ 12 and 18 a piece . Especially with the signing of Hezojna and you still have Mudiay, Frank N and Kevin Knox able to play the wings.
Enes kanter comes off the book after this year and Joakim Noah the following season. See how KP returns from his injury might be able to get a Discount like DeMarcus Cousins or Steph Curry In previous years.
They Knicks could have potentially 2 max cap slots available. By next year.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/29/2018 - 3:49pm #1123241
treytalkssports.comParticipantCourtney Lee is movable on his contract, but Hardaway is a net negative player, especially on an 18 million dollar contract.
Hezonja is on a one-year make good deal. He can be resigned, but his cap hold will be 8 million in the off-season, which means they won’t have cap space to sign others, because it takes their cap space down to 10 million. And are we sure Hezonja is good?
Again, to get rid of Noah, Hardaway, and Lee, they will need to trade away multiple first round picks and at least one of their young guys.
Zinger might take a discount contract, but I wouldn’t count on it. Plus, since he is a RFA in an off-season when there will be a ton of cash, he can probably get a max offer sheet from someone else and make the Knicks match.
They really can have 2 max slots available next year, but again, they would probably only have Baker, Zinger, Knox, and Robinson to do so, with two less future first round draft picks. It’s possible if they really want to, but are any FAs dying to go to that team, even to team up with one other max guy?
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/29/2018 - 5:38pm #1123247
kindofblueParticipantThe Knicks will have $38,797,20 in cap space next summer according to spotrac. If they trade courtney lee and include a second round pick. They’ll have close to 50,000,000 in space that’s more than enough to sigh a max player. They can stretch Noah if the need any more money.
Signing two max guys would much harder, but not impossible. If there is a will there is way.

0- Posted on: Mon, 07/30/2018 - 2:59am #1123265
treytalkssports.comParticipantI’m aware of how the cap works. Are you?
That’s the max available cap space they can have next year without trading anyone away. That amount of cap space is only possible if they renounce the cap holds of Kanter, Mudiay, Hezonja, Kornet, Burke, and Porzingis. Renouncing the cap holds means they don’t have bird rights, which means they can only resign those players into cap space or with the exemptions. Bird rights are what gives teams the flexibility to go over the salary cap to resign a player.
Do you really think they are going to renounce Porzingis cap hold? No team ever does this unless they do not intend to resign him. They will keep his 18-19 million dollar cap hold on the books, clear other salary, and try to sign a max player. Then, they will sign Porzingis to a max (or near max) so that his new "cap hold" will be his actual salary, which will be around 30 million.
Practically speaking, assuming they want to resign Zinger, they only have about 18 million in cap space next off-season without trading anyone. They’d need to get to about 70 to sign Durant with another max guy, which means they would need to renounce every free agent, including Kornet and Hezonja. This also means they’d need to trade (not stretch, because stretch keeps some salary on the books, but just "stretches" it out over a longer period of time) all three of Lee, Hardaway, and Noah. That would open up enough cap space for Durant and Butler (or another guy) while being able to keep Zinger.
But again, the going rate for the past few years to clear salary is about a first round pick for every 18-20 million (see the Nuggets-Nets trade). That means to trade away Lee, Noah, and Hardaway, they likely have to trade at least 2 first rounders, and possibly one of their young guys.
Which leaves the Knicks with:
Two max guys
Injury-prone Zinger
Two of Knox, Frankie, and Robinson
Ron Baker
Vet min/MLE guys
That’s not a bad team, but, depending on who might join Durant, that’s not a contender. Is that team better than the Raptors with Leonard (if he resigns). Is it better than the Celtics? Are they even better than the Sixers?

Miko4rm206ParticipantI guess people don’t know how to use Google nowadays. I’ll post the link. Fresh off the Rumor Mill. Thank me later
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/30/2018 - 12:13am #1123254

Andv1 WaitingParticipantTwo possible sources of this rumour:
Kendrick Perkins-An ex team mate of both Westbrook and Durant mentioned at some point it may happen. This one is old though.
and
The most recent one:
Chris Mannix(a semi respected report who worked for S.I) said something along these lines(search in youtube chris mannix on colin cowheard):After this season and if they win their third ring what is left for him to achieve in GSW?He also mentioned ego’s and cap room may also be a factor and that he may give OKC a look as it ”looks” due to his opt out, like sometime apart may have been all K.D needed and that would be maybe the last thing he needs to legit cement his legacy- By bringing a ring to there ala Lebron to the Cavs sort of move…

HitsterParticipantMy profile picture is of a fanous British Football Commentator called John Motson which was taken when he was reporting about a game being called off in a snow blizzard. John is wearing a sheepskin coat which became his trademark for many years. He recently retired from a major national channel ony to sign up to do radio work.
Hitster was a mock wrestling nickname I thought up as a kid and I sometimes use it as my Social Media handle.
BTW I’m a white guy based in the UK so any offence to a KKK referemce wouldn’t even be taken directly by me but I could imagine some people being very offended so I called it out as I thought it was inappropriate.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantThis is one of those things where it wouldn’t surprise me what he does now…
There could be 3 reasons for this rumor making the rounds:
1) K.D’s Agent put out feelers via a trusted media source(if K.D trusts him) to a possible re-union with OKC to see how media/fans respond to it. As he could be angling to cement his legacy by doing 2 things Bringing a ring to OKC(which would probably have more value than an GSW one)or He wants to do the Lebron learn how to win ,Win and bail from OKC with no hard feeling to wherever he wants to finish up.
2)He is trying to put pressure on GSW to not try get complacent and pay Draymond/Klay/Cousins…With K.D finishing up in GSW.
3) The reporter had to try create some contraversey and help him get a new contract somewhere if his news is a hit.
Me personally as an OKC fan I am don’t know two things:
Finacially how we could make it work(without gutting our team) or if K.D would have to do a Boogie deal(Not much money) or Back loaded as deal
or
If we just chase the Best available PF and try have the deepest overall team in the league:Lets say we chase Kanter again and Jermi Grant takes that leap to be full time Starter PF.
Imagine this team: Adams,Jermi grant,PG,Roberson(personally I hop Dialo passes him if he is good defensively or Roberson is offensively better than he was),Russ.
Bench: Noel(Takes a back loaded deal),Kanter-if he is prepared to take cheap deal which could be possible as he likes OKC and Russ,Dialo(My guess for bench SF/SG at least),Ferguson and Dennis S…
This would give you way more depth than Chasing K.D and having to gut our team to make the $ work and gives the coach plenty of options to work with and no reason for offensive drop off as there is at least 3-4 options off your bench to give you high double figures any night…Plus it would be funnier if Russ and OKC bet GSW on route to the finals/a ring.
However I don’t know if I would personally want Donovan coaching either the above team(with Kanter mentioned) or if K.D came back as you need someone who will balance all the egos and still have the team play the right way..See Jeff Van G as possible choice..
