Its mt first time on this site in over a year so i thought i would co,e back with so,e 2019 player comparisons

    RJ Barrett-Harden

My favorite prospect since Simmons, he’s a great playmaker, defender and jump shooter. He’s also a good athlete, besides him being a better defender right now he reminds me of Harden.

    Nassir Little-Kawhi

No I know this is crazy comparing two 19 year old kids to two top 5 NBA players, but they’re both special. Little combines a great combination of length, athleticism, defense and has a reliable jumper. His jumper could improve but it’s not a weakness at this point.

    Cameron Reddish-Tyreke Evans

I was very high on Reddish last year but he has plateaued in the last year. He is a long, smart playmaking point forward with nice athleticism. His jumper is still a work in progress.

    Zion-Larry Johnson

    Langford-Demar

I’m not the biggest fan of this draft class.

I don’t see much immediate star potential but I’m hoping that this upcoming college season changes my mind and we see players like Reddish and Bol Bol become more aggressive and see the PG’s expand their game a bit more.

Instead of comparisons of got players that I think the prospect shows shades of…

    R.J. Barrett: DeMar DeRozan

Zion Williamson: Larry Johnson, Anthony Bennett

Sekou Doumbouya: Al-Farouq Aminu, Luol Deng

    Quentin Grimes: Alec Burks

    Daniel Gafford: Brandon Wright

    Rui Hachimura: Jerami Grant

    Jaylen Hoard: Michael-Kidd Gilchrist

I have zero doubts that Barrett will be a star in the league, he’s phenomenal. He’s a much better all around player then Demar and a better shooter from 3. I think Little will be a star as well as long as his jumper keeps improving as well as his handle. The jury is still out on Williamson, Bol and Reddish because they All have their weaknesses

You watch too much ESPN. For  Barrett to ever be as good as Demar Derozan he would have to drastically improve his game which is possible and even likely but not even close at this point.

Idk why people hate on Demar so much. He’s averaged 25-ppg, 5-rpg, and 5-apg over the last 3 years and he only missed 14 games. You really expect RJ to just walk in the league better than that?

Historically whenever a SG has done that they have been praised yet everyone loves to shit over Demar’s name.

Barrett is already a better playmaker then derozan right now and is a plus defender and athlete. I write for a football website and I would compare Demar to Jarvis Landry. Both are big names who are good players but don’t offer anything that can carry a team. So yeah I’m a few years in the league I think Barrett could be a better Player

Anyone got a good comp for Naz Reid? I like his game a lot. He won’t be a superstar or anything but I think he’s being slept on by a lot of people

I’m not overreacting here or anything, but in terms of playing style, he actually reminds me of a young Demarcus Cousins. Huge player but very nimble and agile, has a good handle for a big guy and can stroke it.

Naz Reid I like the comparison of Anthony Mason that this site has because of his ability as a passer and ball handler.

Reddish is long and can shoot.  He is a guy who will thrive once he finds his comfort level.  I could see him deferring to Barrett at Duke then rising to the top of the draft during private workouts

At this moment RJ looks clearly the best player in this draft class. I’d say that the draft doesn’t look as deep as the last couple have been but prospects will emerge and players move up and down the board.

A lot of the players I haven’t seen a lot of yet as I’m based in England and the HSS guys tend to be more highlight reels I see.

Doumbouya as the highest rated Euro guy could be the wildcard as teams won’t see him in direct opposition to the other guys and he’ll be one of the very youngest in the draft.

There seems to be a lack of PGs near the top of the draft so any of them who have a good year could shoot up the ratings.

Bol Bol is my wildcard, he could be a total bust or a top defensive guy, his draft rating has already been up and down so watching him in the NCAA will be interesting.

I don’t mind the DeMar DeRozan comparison for Romeo Langford, but he’s going to be a MUCH better three-point shooter off of the dribble and catch than DeRozan is.

Langford reminds me of Paul George more, just the 6’6" verison. He’s smooth like George. Like George, he’s a very good shooter whether it’s off of the catch or the dribble. He’s comfortable playing without the ball. And he actually plays both sides of the floor.

I’m probably biased because I’ve seen him so much, but I think he’s the best player in the class.

I think the top 5 or so of the 2019 class could be as good as the top 5 of the 2018 class especially if a player like James Wiseman reclassifies.

Too much hype for Bagley which has now lessened. Ayton’s ceiling might be an awesome mix of Shaq and Moses Malone — or it might not. Wouldn’t be shocked if Trae Young and Luka Doncic have lower floors AND ceilings than some fan boys think. Jaren Jackson and Bamba look promising but who knows — those two guys are my Big Three of this class along with Mitchell Robinson. I will put Wendell/Ayton/Sexton somewhere behind those 3. I like Kostas Freak and Donte Inferno too.

2019 looks to have a top 3 or a top 5. Then 15 or so deep after that full of rotation role players.

I think Semanic is the underrated Luka to the overrated Doncic.

It’s hard to find a comparison for Barrett in terms of play-style, but functionally speaking, he reminds me of Brandon Roy/Manu, as a versatile, smooth 2 who can create and score from 3 levels.

Reddish reminds me of a less explosive Paul George. Super smooth and long, and gets a little too jumper happy to be a dominant offensive player.

The common comparisons for Little are a mix of Gerald Wallace and Butler. He’d have to up his handle quite a bit to live upto the Butler comparison, but his tenacity on both ends reminds you of him.
