timinator1ParticipantDoes anyone know why his career is off the rails? He was an impact player in Denver early in his career, and he was the best player on the 2014 National Team that won the FIBA World Cup. Now he’s a backup on the Nets, moved to free cap space. Is it the contract? Is it the changing NBA? Has he lost a step with injuries? I just don’t get it.
If I’m the Nets, I’m thrilled that Faried is on the team and the impact he’ll have on the young kids LaVert, Russell, Allen, etc.

XYRYXParticipantThat’s a good question but also kind of obvious he doesn’t bring what is asked for today’s forwards.
When he first exploded in the league with all his energy and hustle I totally fell in love with this junkyard game. The problem with him is he just isn’t any good in any category besides rebounding. He is not a good defender even if he plays hard. His handles never really improved, is not angkor passer and he has no confidence shooting the ball.
The thing is you just can’t pay any forward 10+ million a year if he isn’t going to give you either points (ask Jabari) or is a badass defender like Roberson or came a long way like RoCo in philly who can do little bit of everything compared to Faried.
I‘m still rooting for him since he is still spectacular and plays hard but he won’t move the needle for your team and for an energy player he is just too expensive and also kind of old now and won’t become any different from now on.

timinator1Participantseems like for a team like Brooklyn, the Nugs, etc, there would be enough offense just from offensive rebounding and putbacks to be valuable. I’m interested to see what happens.

Celtics3178ParticipantDid you see the article comparing him to trout. He’s actually more recognizable then the best baseball player in the world kind of hilarious

OhCanada-ParticipantI’ve never seen anybody play with such energy and passion at the college level to this day. His run at Morehead State was some of the most enjoyble ball I’ve watched.

The GoatParticipantI think this type of player has fallen away from being considered valuable, but I’m not sure if it’s really the case. You can’t truly measure what Manimal brings statistically. He can’t shoot, he’s not physically the longest, doesn’t defend the rim as well as a taller player, but I think these hustle type guys really still have a place in the game if used the right way.
