the barronParticipantAll right so we know that nearly every NBA team has 1,2 or even 3 international players on their roster so who are the best? Yao’s situation is interesting but for now I’ll put him in the reserve section. So here is my list:
PG Steve Nash(Canada)
SG Ben Gordon(Great Britain)
SF Hedo Turkoglu(Turkey)
PF Dirk Nowitzki(Germany)
C Pau Gasol(Spain)PG Tony Parker(France)
C Yao(China)
PG Jose Calderon(Spain)
C Mehmet Okur(Turkey)
SG Manu Ginobili(Argentina)
SF Luol Deng(Great Britain)
SF Peja Stojakovic(Serbia)Honorable Mention: Andrei Kirilenko(Russia), Luis Scola(Argentina), Andrew Bogut(Australia), Boris Diaw(France), Al Horford(Dominican Republic), Nene(Brazil), Chris Kaman(Germany), Leandro Barbosa(Brazil), Joakim Noah(France), Rudy Fernandez(Spain), Zydrunas Ilgauskas(Lithuania), Mickael Pietrus(France), Andres Nocioni(Argentina), Charlie Villanueva(Dominican Republic).
A tough list to make. For those of you wondering about Ben Gordon he was born in Britain and has said he will represent his country in international basketball. As for the rookies this year I believe Jonas Jerebko(Sweden), Patrick Mills(Australia), and Ricky Rubio(Spain) have the best chance to succeed in the NBA.

dwat4444ParticipantI’d throw Parker ahead of Nash but besides from that it seems like a very accurate list.

RickyRubio9ParticipantI know he is a citizen and would choose Canada, but I am just stating where he was actually born and I’m sure plenty of users already knew that.

doubledribblerParticipantI agree with mallstax..that team would get crushed on defense. My lineup would be different if I was running the team. I would look to add more defense and more of a balanced attack.
Nash
Ginobli
Hedo
Gasol
YaoKirilenko
Parker
Dirk
Horford
Fernandez
Diaw
OkurParker is probably better than Nash, but Parker is going to bring some scoring off the bench. I would have Gasol play a similiar role of starting pf and backup center that he plays with the Lakers. I would have enough shooters around Yao to keep him from ever getting doubled. Dirk gives me more shooting. Diaw gives me a guy that can handle the ball as well as play multiple positions. Horford gives me rebounding and defense. Most people will probably see that I left out Ben Gordon. I just see him as too much of a defensive liability. Besides I have plenty of scorers and I know the guys that I have are going to get the ball to Yao and Gasol when I need them to instead of jacking up jumpshots. I actually chose Fernandez over him. He’s nowhere close to be the scorer, but he’s a better defender and passer and he’s bigger. Besides I have more than enough scoring on this team.
