Question for Chicago Bulls fans

 Not a Bulls fan an NBA fan, but he is an athletic slasher with a high IQ. Needs to develop his jumper.  Likely the backup in Orlando looking at about 19 minutes a game or so.

 Not a high IQ player. Can’t run an offense for sht really. Struggles with his handle, getting momentum towards the hoop. Spins his tires on his first step, lacks wiggle and an off hand which often results in him attempting low percentage step backs. Slashes in straight lines but is not a creative finisher.  Has the tools to defend 2 positions perhaps, but isn’t a good defender, never has been. To me he’s a borderline NBA player, who’s more of a low end 4th guard. Completely forgettable.

Really athletic and quick, but a backup at best. Good distributor, but struggles to shoot and score. He sported a 3+ A/TO ratio for the Bulls last year, but he’s one of those guys that struggles to get to the rim and shoot from the outside as well. When it boils down to it, he’s one of those guys (that if he gets 30 minutes) you can forget he’s out on the court.

I think he’s good enough to stick around in the league and have a nice career, but at 25, I think there isn’t much upside, and you’ll be getting an athletic guy who can’t really score, but who can D up, and spread the ball around without making a ton of mistakes.

 Not a Bulls fan but I had Jerian Grant on my fantasy team last year and followed him quite a bit. I agree with what was said about him above except for GBee not sure what he’s even trying to say to be honest just seems like a negative post.

I’d add he’s very inconsistent and doesnt really take the initiative to create sequences. Seems to be one of those guys that just sits back and takes what comes to him. In order to be a starting PG in the NBA you have to be aggressive and create the tempo. He doesnt seem comfortable taking risks and doesnt play to the fullest of his abillity.

It’s actually a good situation for Orlando. Grant distributes the ball well and will allow Gordon, Isaac and Bamba to get decent touches like he did for Markannen last year. He may even be an upgrade from Elfrid Payton. He is less dynamic creating offense but a better shooter and turns the ball over less because of his safe approach.

I think Grant will start for Orlando and at the very least split minutes with DJ Augustin. It would be nice to see some of that aggressiveness he played with at Notre Dame come back while at Orlando.

 To me, seems like a guy that needs every single play run for him and when he starts executing whatever play it is, if there is any adjustment or option needed he doesn’t know how to apply it to what he does on the court and play breaks down. No great jumper or passing ability, tries hard, a good guy to run thru stuff at practice. A 3rd or 4th string point guard for mine.

Horrible ball-handling for a guard since he dribbles really high. When pressured, he either forces up a bad drive or picks the ball up. A lot of his moves seem pre-determined and not very instinctual. He also is a very inconsistent shooter.

Good things about him are that he is a decent defender and he has good bball IQ although his bad handles can get in the way of making advanced basketball plays at times. He also has a nice mid-range jumper.Honestly though, I’d rather see what they have in Isaiah Briscoe who similar as a defender but a way better ball-handler and finisher in the rim. He also has improved his jumpshot so that it is now respectable.

 He’s a poor man’s Terry Rozier. He’s a back up guard at best. Doesn’t really do much other than try and shoot. He’s a willing passer but he struggles trying to be a point guard at this level.

Orlando looks like they have 2 absolute Studs in Mo Bamba & Jonathan Isaac – so they are set at the 4 / PF & 5 / C spots for years to come who will join Aaron Gordon to form a Very formidabble 3, 4 & 5 front court – What Orlando desperately need is a Point Guard to lead the Unit / Team

I would see Jerian Grant as a servicable place holder who is good enough but let’s be honest, Orlando must committ to this Rebuild in earnest & get a couple more pieces – a guard & a wing or two guards to fill out that starting 5 so they can Grow together 

Grant is Not your long term solution but the reason I DO like Grant for Orlando is that he is a tough, athletic, physical guard who can stay In Front of his counter-part Opponent so the opposing teams are not treating the lane like an Air Plane Runway to Attack the Rim & traumatize Bamba & Isaac while theyt are Learning & Growing! 

Grant is 26 years old – he was drafted at 23. His Father is Harvey Grant & his Uncle is Horace Grant & his brother is Jerami Grant so what Orlando will get in Jerian Grant is a Veteran Point Guard who is really wise beyond his years in how to navigate the NBA lifestyle both on & off the court while they Develop their Young Core but still continue to collect Lottery picks b/c the Magic are just Not ready to compete for a playoff spot yet – even in the East
