festar35ParticipantKicked off in Utah and saw Jaren Jackson’s Grizz vs Trae Young’s Hawks – Memphis big winners with Jackson scoring 29 and going 8-13 From 3pt range. Young went 1-11 From downtown and 4-20 overall.
Grizz 103 – 88 Hawk.
Hopefully at least the Summer Legue will be competitive.

ZouldiersParticipantWhat I like about JJJ is that he is confident with his shot. My concern with him is his shot but his confidence taking those shots may relieve me a little bit for now.

SubZeroParticipantI almost don’t even want to talk basketball right now but I can’t not watch these games
JJJ looks like a certified stud. He won’t be blazing from 3 every game like he was tonight but his defense and effort will always be there
Trae was off but he did a decent job of running the offense and made some sweet passes from what I’ve seen. Once he gets better with his shot selection, he’ll be set. He had some nice strips around the rim too
Really looking forward to watching Fox and Bagley together. They’re gonna be deadly in the open court

RUDEBOY-ParticipantAs a Grizzlies fan I wasn’t too excited when they selected JJJ. Was hoping they added Porter. But after watching him dive into the stands for lose balls and 3 points attempts. I’ll be happy if he turns into a Draymond Type.Collins of the Hawks beat him a couple of times off the dribble. Collins looked like a 10 year vet. Kobi Simmons & Carter also played well for Memphis. Trae Young looked good passing the ball. Also surprisingly defended better than I thought. He needs to tone down all those long distance threes. He finished with 16 points.

marcusfizer21ParticipantRUDEBOY, I envy you for having JJJ on your team! He’s the one I wanted the Bulls to have on draft night. If he works hard on his game, he’s going to be a modern version of JO with a three point shot.

whiteflashParticipantSome of Young’s 3’s were ridiculous. There was at least two possessions where he pulled up past 30 feet with over 15 seconds on the shot clock. He better get that sh!+ out of his system now.

ChrispyParticipantGreat atmosphere! Bagley looks really good. Had a monster facial and hit a three. He is really running the floor. Giles is playing a nice game. Mo Wagner is playing well for the Lakers. Svi looks like one of those players whose game fits the pro-style more than college. Fun first half!

Jr. ROXASParticipantMykhailuk and Wagner both look good. Wagner especially plays with a swag and intensity that LA fans will love.

OhCanada-ParticipantWagner looks great and the way things are currently should be in line for big minutes for the Lakers. He looks like a new age Mehmet Okur quicker and more athletic, range on his jumper, solid build, good rebounder, decent post defender. Could make the all rookie team has the perfect skillset to compliment Lebron.

OhCanada-ParticipantMan Trae Young stunk it up again. Atlanta passed on alot of good bigs to pick Young however Spellman has looked great so it makes up for it. Doncic refusing to play for Atlanta will likely haunt Hawks fans.
Chimezie Metu is a guy I’ve always been high on and compared to John Collins (despite being older). He hasnt had mindblowing numbers but has been decent in his role and has a complete game. Defenite steal in this draft.

BeastMode716ParticipantLarry Johnson (Grandmama – UNLV, Charlotte Hornettes w/ Lonzo Mourning LJ) but that’s what Bargley reminded me of!
Now he is Younger than LJ – remember LJ was a Grown ass man – 6’7” crazy wing span, Muscles poppin out his ears! Gold Tooth! Intimidating str8 out the Hood Larry Johnson
Now Bagley is actually taller than LJ & Not as filled out b/c he’s younger by 2 years & does not have his Grown Man body yet
BUT – what made Pre-Back Injury Larry Johnson such a BEAST was that LJ was a Freakishly Explosive Leaper! Larry Johnson would literally Explode to the ball above the rim, grab the rebound, Storm down the court & either pass it to a teammate for an easy bucket or YAM it down the Defender’s Troat!
Side not, I do Not want to Panic b/c Summer League has Very little organization – it’s basically a wholelot of fringe guys on their way to Europe hoping to get a few plays on Film so coaches can see it from ALL 30 NBA teams!
So guys who are Freak athletes or NBA savants stand out & players like Young – who are more dependant on working within the frame-work of the team can struggle.
And predictably when the "Team" began to break down a Frustated Young lost his mind a little & started to Force things. Now would we have liked to see Young show maturity & Leadership? Sure – but let’s not get carried away! – but Wow that was a Bad look for the kid! But let’s pull it together Young Bucket!

RUDEBOY-ParticipantMo Wagner is just in Summer League and already acting like a vet. Dude has spent a lot of time barking at the Refs!! lol
