Such an over reaction from the Philippines in my opinion, I’m all for protecting your team mate but this was disgraceful. (From New Zealand so not an Australian fan at best of times)

I’m in America..this has to be some of the wildest fighting I’ve ever seen. Flying punches, Thon Maker with the flying knee kick, Looks like Street Figher II from 1998.

There had been plenty of bad blood befor e the fists started flying. At half time, the Philippines coach was heard trying to rev his players up by saying "Hit somebody". They obviously took his words to heart. I’m disappointed for Australia’s role in this whole debacle. I understand sticking up for your mate and all, but Maker’s flying knees was just unacceptable. Just a disgrace to be involved in.

Absolutely disgraceful – did you see the photo of the phillipines offical punch an Boomer.
Also Sobey was down on the bottom of the ground and all the phillipines came in like cheap shot artists when he was on the ground. Then the chair throwing. The whole phillpines teams should be banned from international play for an appropiate length of time.

Daniel Kickert started the whole thing with that cheapshot elbow. The Filipinos retaliated of course. It’s not pretty but when you started acting like a jerk in another country, you had it coming. Hats off to Australia’s bench for not making it worse than it already is.

  The Philippines were bashing Australia all game and they took it… right up until Goulding got smashed and Kickert decided to take things into his own hands. What he did wasn’t right, but the whole thing was instigated by the Phillipine basketball team.

Fans throwing chairs, security kicking Boomer players. Pinoy players hitting people in the back of tje head then running away. Some dude with team connections connecting on a right hook. All but 3 Filipino players kicked out, and Thon Maker releases his inner bruce lee. This was horrible. Will be interesting if Fiba allows Manila to host any events again.
