Andv1 WaitingParticipantThis is a hypothetical if these two players don’t stay on respective teams:
Chris Paul: Lets say the Rockets balk at the potential of paying CP3 a 5 years max. What are peoples thoughts on the following teams?
Suns: This move is to show Booker you want to contend right now this gives the Suns the point guard that have been missing to elevate their roster. The other thing that could help them is the Suns legendary medical staff can resurect grant hill from the pile I am sure they can extend CP3’s career..
Cavs-CP3 does this to spite the Rockets and takes a 3 year max with them after the ship some of those average deals out to make room and Lebron will help CP3 make his first finals.
Denver-They have a promising core of talent which may appeal to CP3 and might be willing to go all for him and Jokic.
Carmelo:Finally has enough and wants out of OKC and wants to waive his trade clause so what teams can he potential end up on peoples thoughts on the following teams:
Charlotte hornets: Nicholas Battum and MKG for Melo + Singler and future 2nd or 2 Hornets do this to save money and move some average deals off the books OKC does this to move Melo and find possibly better team players who buy into a system.
Miami heat: Dion Waiters and James Johnson for Melo. Heat do this to get cap room for 20 19 and OKC does this as there is familiarity with Dion W and Johnson fills a need.
Orlando: Evan Fournier and John Simmons for Melo. Orlando finally hits reset with Issac,Bamba and Gordon while either buying Melo out or letting him walk next offseason. OKC does this to upgrade our Shooting guard(while roberson is rehabing) and our bench…

The GoatParticipantGood idea except that Melo is like herpes – no one wants him, cant get rid of him

kobyzParticipantCarmelo would be great in philly, it will be like USA team role! They have cap space to trade for him, with thunder may want to save some money, wow great idea from me!!

LOFTYParticipantWhen I first started reading this I was thinking you’ve got to be an idiot than I thought this was sarcasm so please explain LOL! I honestly can’t think of any team in the NBA that NEEDS him.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantTeams may not neccessarly need him but the may want/.need the moneytary repreve he gives next season. Also doesn’t hurt his boy D-wade is probably going to be there.
Teams like the Heat always like to be players in F.A and 2019 has a reasonable crop of them. Plus I think they are having a little buyers remorse on some of there deals. This is one of the few teams I could think of off the top of my head he may agree to waive his No trade clause for(honestly thought that was gone after the knicks trade)..
I don’t see Melo legit being moved but thought it would be funny to see if there were any legit options out there people could think of.

kobyzParticipantAbout the chris Paul to phoinx idea, maybe after that they could trade for kawhi, they could give Josh Jackson, Bridges for him, is that a team could challenge the warriors:
Paul
Booker
Kawhi
Warren
Chandler/Ayton

Evan_MilbergParticipantMelo, surprising no one, just decided to not exercise the early termination option on the final year of his contract. He’s set to make $27.9 mil next year. There was never any real shot of him leaving OKC. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/23890370/carmelo-anthony-oklahoma-city-thunder-exercise-early-termination-option-contract
Now CP3, on the other hand, seems to be at odds with Houston right now. That said, I think he understands his best shot at a championship is in Houston. I’m pretty sure one side or the other will cave.

whiteflashParticipantAs a native Houstonian, lifelong Rockets fan (still can’t stand Harden’s game) and someone who’s always respected Paul, the Rockets can’t give him the max. It would hogtie the franchise for a decade. Having said that, I don’t think any other big name FA wants to play with Harden, so this might be their best chance in the immediate future.

OhCanada-ParticipantChris Paul isnt going to Phoenix what are you guys talking about? He’s gonna go to an inexperienced team where half the players are 23 or younger? Only 4 players have ever played a playoff game. Nah he wants a ring come on.

whiteflashParticipantYeah, some of the predictions, comparisons and evaluations around here can get a little wacky.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantI agree this is most likely true that he will either want to be on a veteran team or a title contender.
However this is more of the Rockets balk and teams that he would make sense on due to having the sufficient cap room to make it happen, as apparently there aren’t many teams that can give the Max this offseason(to try encourage people to throw out ideas where he might fit for lols). As CP3 may want money over winning if he can’t get both.
But lets put it this way as maybe a different way to look at it:
The suns have very little injury concerns at this point Vs his current team where E.G has an injury history,Ryan anderson can’t be on the court on during the playoffs and if either CP3 or Harden goes down for big stretches they struggle big time like the Suns.
The Suns have a Star in Booker who can give you most of what Harden does and may play more respectable defense. With the exception of Harden may have the tighter handle.
The Suns have a deeper roster than a team like the Rockets which means he may get more rest than he would in Houston.
They have plenty of assets to pull a Cleveland if they want to-See Wiggins for K-love or T-wolves for Butler trade.
He can get the Max from them. IF that is what he wants as he may realize no-one is beating GSW until another big 4 is formed somewhere else.
He can elevate their role player easily due to them being able to still mainly jump out of the building like Chriis,Bender,Warren Ayton etc.
If Tyson Chandler is there he has chemistry with him and he also gives them another vet voice that the team can turn to if he doesn’t want to lead.
