MallStax5Participantdrafted Curry ok…
except i dont see A Curry/Ellis backguard being great.
let me tell you why.
Ellis is being forced to play point..he is not a point although he is getting better at it.
Curry and Ellis both need the ball to score
on a team all ready with Stephen Jackson
Anthony Randolph
Corey Magette.
Curry Reminds Me of ben gordon
him and ellis in the backcourt would be like a backcourt with Louis Williams And Wille Green,
if you want Ellis as the 1 why not draft someone who would better fit your style
ala….
Henderson
Derozan(he will be good)0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/21/2009 - 7:40pm #187218
Michael.S.ParticipantCurry doesnt need the ball to score i think he would be a great player at coming off screens like Rip he is a shooter he doesnt need the ball to spot up and shoot, he should play PG Imo he is a far better playmaker than Ellis

MallStax5Participantthats who he will be like.
curry shot selection is off.
he will struggle
he will be great but as of now
he will struggle out the gate0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/21/2009 - 7:46pm #187224

MagikKnickParticipantI think Curry is great at moving without the ball, kind of like Rip
But, he needs more of a pass first point guard to work with, and Monta isnt the ideal pass first PG..
Thats why I dont think they’ll work well together..0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/21/2009 - 7:46pm #187225
FutureoftheGameIf Curry is the point, he will feed off Ellis getting to the rim and kicking the ball out. Ellis is better fitted for the 2, like you said, and thats why they took Curry. Just because the guy can shoot, and likes to shoot, doesnt mean he cant be a good PG. Look at Nash. A great shooter and a great PG. In no way am i comparing Curry to Nash so dont get it mixed up. Just trying to find an example.

R-Dot-13ParticipantCurry either should be playing the point, or have a pass first point guard to get him the ball when he wants to shoot, so I dont think the 2 will play well together.

R-Dot-13ParticipantLet me rephrase that, Curry needs to play the point for the 2 to work best together,

MallStax5Participantthey both should be twos!
thats why it wont work0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/21/2009 - 7:59pm #187253

RickyRubio9ParticipantBiedrins, Randolph, Maggette, Jackson, Ellis, Azubuike, Turiaf, and Curry now…
They should be a fun team, but Jackson plays like a Point and likes to have the ball. I don’t get how this team will work…0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/21/2009 - 8:03pm #187255
FutureoftheGameI think they need to clear some space for Randolph by getting rid of Jax or Magette. Randolph has beefed up and deserves to play some. He would look good at the SF/PF positions and right now, that spot is almost as tight as the guard rotation.

sheltwon3ParticipantActually everything depends on Ellis because Elllis played well next to Baron Davis who is a scoring point. Curry could possibly be like Baron in some ways but only if Ellis allows him to be.
