dwat4444ParticipantDepends on the difference… if its only 3 million more then stay but for more than 3 million more I’d leave and be a beast for some euro squad.

MagikKnickParticipantI would say NBA
Growing up, you hear about guys building legacies in the NBA, and every ballers dream is to play in the NBA, going overseas just wouldnt feel right..
Maybe i’d pull a Jannero Pargo and go for 1 season, then come back to the NBA

FutureoftheGameI’d have to stay in USA. The power of the Euro is just as weak as the power of the dollar. People that go over there, from here, are usually never heard of again. I know you said that in this you are a “star” but ya never know what could happen. Also, in Euope, sometimes there is trouble getting your paychecks. I cant remember if it was Childress or Jennings that was talking about not being paid in like 6 weeks because their team was mad or upset at them. IMO, stay in America unless you only make like 450k here and a team is offering like 3mil.

MallStax5Participantneed it though to rebuild their career and work on their game.
personally. i think Childress would have been overpaid and made big bucks if he stayd in the NBA two seasons ago instead of leaving for europe.
pargo had to because as good as he is he will never get recogniztion.
he is a stellar backup pg!0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/21/2009 - 7:13pm #187192

MagikKnickParticipantDidnt Josh Childress’ team buy him a car?

FutureoftheGameHe is back now. Didnt the Bulls sign him?? If so, that is the perfect fit for him if the will play him.

bkballerParticipantI think the biggest part that would affect my decision is how much value i have in the US. If im not worth a lot in the NBA and only making 2-3 million and Europe offers me a lot more money i would leave. However if i have a decent salary in the NBA of at least 5-6 mill i would probably stay in the US regardless of what europe was offering me.

Chicago1980ParticipantIf i am an NBA Star then i would definitely stay here this is where the real comp is and you will probably make up for the extra cash with endorsements. If i am just some 2nd tier player like josh childress for example and i get offered more money to play overseas then i would probably have to look at that oppurtunity to make that extra money.
