My question is this, how high in the 2nd Round can a team buy a 2nd Rounder this year.  Any other Bulls fans out there?  If so, you know that last year we obtained a "whopping" $3.5 million of NON-Salary Cap affected money from the Warriors to trade away the draft rights to Jordan Bell.  During the same draft they announced they are starting an aggressive rebuild, no less.  When asked about that recently (within the past couple months), John Paxson mentioned that selling that pick earned the front office "ownership capital", which one could imagine would allow the Bulls to buy into the 2nd Round THIS year (assuming they are scouting heavily for the #22 pick and some players they don’t draft at #22 fall into the early 2nd Round).  So my question is, how early do you think a 2nd Rounder can be just "bought", without any other asset being exchanged?

Last year, the Bulls were picking #38 when they sold their 2nd Rounder.

This year, Atlanta has 3 1sts and the #34 pick.

This year, Philadelphia has 2 1sts and FOUR 2nd Rounders (including #38 & #39 back to back).  I think that’s a prime spot for a playoff team to unload a couple of picks that probably aren’t going to have a lot of playing time (can they really add 6 rookies? Do they want to draft 3 plus "draft and stash" European players?).

Any thoughts?  I think there is going to be some BIG upside talent available around #31 – #40 this year.  The latest mock has Anfernee Simons dropping from the #10-#20 range a couple weeks ago to #35 (to Orlando).  Trevon Duval, Josh Okogie, Keita Bates-Diop, Shake Milton, Melvin Frazier, etc.  These are all rotation level talents that younger lottery teams can afford to develop.

Bulls fan here as well. The frustrations with management seem to never end lol.

I don’t think we will see a pick be bought as high as we did last year because this draft is cleary deeper, and most teams aren’t as incompetent as the Bulls.

Philly selling does make sense, along with Denver at #43 & Washington at #44, but I’m sure this teams would try to acquire a future second before selling.

I do think all picks 56-60 may be for sale, would be interesting to see if a team pulls the trigger to grab one of their top guys who dropped.

Philly has too many picks to be able to sign everyone. I have them as the smokey who have promised Kostas Antetekoumpo, leading to him cancelling workouts.

I wouldnt be surprised if the Pelicans  or the Thunder try buy a pick. The Pels need a wing badly and the Thunder can replicate the production of someone getting over $25mil this season (no names) if they draft effectively. Atlanta have a few as mentioned, Orlando also seem to have a few.

Btw, for the record, I dont think Anfernee Simons goes past Memphis at 32.

I could see Philly shopping one of their top 40 picks.

I could see Houston possibly paying to move up from 46th and always keep an eye on the rich teams in case they want to buy in.

Atlanta may get good offers for 30 or 34th picks if teams want to buy in or even trade down for a 2nd rounder none guaranteed deal.

It will be interesting to see what Boston and GSW so at 27 and 28.
