Lotto StudParticipantWhich team will be the one to throw off everyone’s mock on draft night with an unexpected pick?

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantThe Knicks are supposedly deciding between Knox and Lonnie Walker. If they take Walker, they’re idiots, and it’ll mess with mocks

Lotto StudParticipantI wouldn’t place anything past New York from their history, but I believe the monkey wrench begins in the top-5 before another team throws one.

Scrooge McDuckParticipantI hope the knicks select lonnie walker. I like a good laugh on draft day. Kristaps is gonna have to work in his sense of humor tho. I think he’s competitive and won’t be to happy.

ZouldiersParticipantKings, it’s Sacramento. You never know what they’re up to. Bucks as well.

Lotto StudParticipantOne false early selection creates a domino effect for us all.

The GoatParticipantThe Kings taking Porter wont surprise

Evan_MilbergParticipantI actually think the lottery will be fairly ho-hum, with most of the currently projected picks going roughly as expected. I think where things could get interesting is the middle of the first round. I think Phoenix’s pick at 16 is going to be the linchpin. There’s a good 25-30 players you can make a case for to go in the mid-1st, and there will undoubtedly be a cascade effect that could push a player everyone likes into the early-mid second round.

Lotto StudParticipantJaren Jackson Jr. instantly comes to mind for me, of a team valuing him over Bagley III and Bamba.

jonus grumbyParticipantJackson comes to mind for me also but in the opposite direction as you. If someone (high in the mocks) tumbles thursday I could see it being Jackson
0- Posted on: Mon, 06/18/2018 - 7:21am #1119741
Lotto StudParticipantDo you project Wendell Carter Jr. to jump ahead of him?
0- Posted on: Mon, 06/18/2018 - 7:45am #1119749
jonus grumbyParticipantNo not projecting anything it is just that most years someone unexpectantly falls. I can not see Ayton, Bagley or Doncic falling outside the top 6. Bamba I am fairly certain will go in the top 6. Throw in a PG (either one or both) or a surprise pick and that leaves Jackson outside the top 6. Not that I think it will happen but if it happens where someone who has be mocked high falls I don’t see it being any other person besides Jackson.

HobbyOGParticipantThe Hawks…word around Atlanta is they really like Trae Young..new GM came from GS and he’s convince that Trae Young is the next Steph and he’s very marketable, good for a city that doesn’t have a marketable player or idenity..not saying I agree with his theory so don’t neg me for it lol…

pokieParticipantIf some GM out there gets stupid over those Bomba shooting from three vids out there and jumps the gun, we could all be in trouble.

pokieParticipantOr if someone figures out that Sexton is basically unstopable in a league that has outlawed hand-checking.

OllstarParticipantSexton is the guy I could see jumping up in the draft. He could be a great lead guard. I got him going 6th.

Andrew1984ParticipantI believe it’ll be trades that upset the mock draft apple cart, not so much players being drafted unexpectedly high.

celtics1982ParticipantGood luck, haven’t even done a mock because this draft is crazy. You literally have guys that could go late lottety to mid second round. Deep draft where everyone is closely ranked. All basically what you want in a player and we can guess, but really have no clue. Usually drafts have degined tiers, which makes it easier. Not this year, not after the top players. Going to be a fun draft, but not if you want to nail a mock. So good luck everyone.

HitsterParticipantThe Hawks pick will be very interesting, do they reach for Trae or take a more obvious guy.

RicoParticipantMy question is, who falls? If guys get picked higher than expected that means someone else is falling.
0- Posted on: Mon, 06/18/2018 - 7:41am #1119748
Lotto StudParticipantOut of the lottery completely, or projected range?

ndbigdaveParticipantI would say that, as usual, we have a generally good idea of who will go in a certain range. For me, its the lottery, there may be a name or two who surprises later on (I think) but I generally have an idea of who and where. I think dominoes fall at #2. The Kings literally could go in a host of different ways, some (IMO) being better than others, but there are camps who prefer different players for differenent reasons. Doncic, Bagley, Jackson Jr., Porter and Bamba have supporters. It is entirely possible that a great deal of mock drafts will be wrong by pick #2 which will throw a lot of things off until pick 7 or so when the next tier kicks in.

Lotto StudParticipantBy any chance, does anyone feel as if a team will reach for Kevin Knox II higher than expected in the 5-7 range?
0- Posted on: Mon, 06/18/2018 - 7:59am #1119756
jonus grumbyParticipantI do not think it will happen but I would not be totally shocked if the Bulls take him at 7. I think that is the highest he could go.
0- Posted on: Mon, 06/18/2018 - 8:04am #1119757
Lotto StudParticipantThat’s exactly who I have in mind in that range.
