Word is out that the New York Knicks have been in talks with teams interested in selecting Michael Porter Jr. today at #9. By using process of elimination, which teams do you think have inquired?

I’ll go first and say the Clippers.  I doubt # 9 gets him.  I have been thinking the Clippers and the Bulls get together.

Agree with the Bulls + Clippers doing something…if Wendell Carter, Porter or Trae young are off the board I think they trade back, I think they’d rather have the chance to pick two of either Mikal or Miles Bridges, Knox, Rob Williams or Lonnie Walker. The Clips probably want to consolidate some of their young players anyway and don’t need two more rookies on the roster. If Doc is coaching, there’s no way he goes through a rebuild

      Maybe the Bulls’ #9 + a future 2nd for #12 + #13

If thats the case, what is more interesting to me is the information is there to say Porter will be available at 9.

Ayton Bagley Doncic Bamba Carter Young  and Jackson are consensus top 7 in that case, so who is the 8th player?

    Mikal? SGA? Knox?

I said that would be the consensus top 7 if Porter was believed to be falling to 9. He wont fall to 9, the authors original post was clarified later

Clarification: the reports out there are that teams picking AHEAD of the Knicks are gauging the Knicks’ interest in trading up to get Porter.

Thank you for following up. “Players f#ck up too” because of not being able to edit in a timely manner. The site must fix that option.

Consensus out of Memphis, is Porter will be their pick. They’re going to watch another workout. Only way they won’t select him is if Bagley falls to them.

the fit is too good, and stops the bleeding that everyone points out from the Tatum deal so prematurely.

I’m convinced Porter is going #2 to Sacramento.  Jeremy Woo of SI cited mulitple league sources in a June 5th report that they were intrigued by him all year, and also included that they may try and trade down and still get him.  I’m telling yall, if his medical history comes back clear enough, I may be crazy but I think he goes #2.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all. Vivek and Vlade are known to go against the grain with their decisions. He’s probably also a bigger box office draw than the others projected in that range…with the Kings in a new arena, that’s a factor. I think they’re down to him or Bagley.

Just like last season when the Draft was Guard & Wing heavy

the 2018 Draft is heavy w/ quality Bigs at either Center or Power Forward

Until teams can see these players in Private work outs in Las Vegas it’s really hard to guess which players rise

MPJ’s combination of Size &scoring ability make it hard to pass up on him if you are a team like the Kings, Hawks, Grizz & so on

I think Ayton goes #1 – If Doncic signals that he’s Def coming over next season AND Porter tests Great at the individual work out it’ll prob be between those 2 players at the #2 spot

I like Bagley a Lot too – but Ayton, Doncic & Porter might be the only 3 w/ "Super Star Potentials" – NOT a Lock but certainly Potential top reach that level
