Who are some of the prospects that you believe are being slept on/overlooked/undervalued/under discussed? I believe that players like Donte DiVincenzo, Kevin Huerter, Josh Okogie, Melvin Frazier etc. who have made late rises on big boards have overshadowed soome of their formerly more heralded counterparts. And for every one of them, there is a Gary Trent jr who may not have the hype, but I could very well see going ahead of all the aforementioned. Here are some of the prospects, in particular, that I believe are being overlooked, and that I’d like to hear your input about.

-Collin Sexton- I’m not convinced he couldn’t go before Trae Young (small chance, but not impossible to imagine for me), but I could also see him going after SGA……

-Gary Trent Jr.- Solid, productive, and intelligent. He has an NBA pedigree with a well rounded offensive game. What are the odds he goes before Huerter?

-Landry Shamet- One of the best and most versatile shooters in the draft. Good size for a PG and a smart kid. His wingspan and positional versatility make me wonder why anybody would put Huerter above him.

-Omari Spelman- Not the athletic freak that Mitchell Robinson or Robert Williams are, but a far superior offensive skillset with a superior body of work. Has improved his body and coniditioning but still has a ways to go. Even while in less than ideal shape he was a very productive player on both ends for a championship team. Has legit stretch 5 potential.

-Aaron Holiday- Upperclassmen so he gets dinged for that, but he has multiple bonafide NBA skills with his ball handling, shooting and plus level athleticism. He’s gotten more love of late but I’d still like to hear what the forum thinks about his draft range. I think he or shamet is going to go in the teens to a team in need of perimeter scoring and a pg

-Khyri Thomas- It’s come full circle. When he first showed up in the lottery I thought it was out of left field. Now he’s fallen into the 20’s on many mocks and I just haven’t heard much justification for the movement. Could be others moving up and not him moving down. Did he ever deserve the lotto hype?

-Keita Bates-Diop- 6’7" with a 7’3" wingspan, a feathery touch, good feet, decent athleticism, and unusually high upside for a 4 year college player imo. Depending how his ballhandling looks in workouts, I could see him sneaking into the early 20’s and maybe even late teens.

-DeAnthony Melton- I currently have him slotted at 27 to the Celtics to replace Marcus Smart as a defensive point guard for the celtic’s rotation. I believe he has one of the largest draft ranges and could go anywhere from 15 to 50 depending on how front office feel about his character. Idk enough about him as a person to be confident, so i went with value and fit.

-Kevin Knox/Miles Bridges- I believe that one of them is going to fall but I can’t decide which one. I love Bridges as a competitor but can’t help but believe Knox has the superior upside on account of his size and ball handling. I do believe Bridges is the kind of person that a front office could fall in love with and really believe in though.

-Brandon McCoy- He outplayed Ayton head to head, he’s 7’1" with length and a soft touch. Is his lack of dominance on defense and potential inability to switch onto the perimeter really going to keep him out of the first round?

Kevin Hervey is another that I haven’t been hearing much about lately that I believe could be very high on some teams boards. 6’7" with a 7’3" wingspan at the combine where he also averaged 15 a game and shot above 60% from three. After that showing, I believe the concerns over his knee have been quelled a bit and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go over Keita Bates-Diop – whom I consider his most direct competition given their nearly identical measurements, positions they play and general skillsets. Yet he’s still not getting mentioned much…

It’s Ajdin Penava, NCAA best shot blocker with 3.9blks in 29min to go with 15.6pts 8.5rbds 1.9as and 34% from three.

Mobile player who can lead the break, improving shooter, good passer, rim protector, hope he will be given the chance as he has all the tools to make it in the league.

I agree the most on KBD, has old school type game, smart, very patient, like midrang game, great length, question about his desire and dedication but the talent is there, I always see some Jamal Mashburn in him..

    1. Omari Spellman: He provides a rare combination of perimeter shooting and elite rebounding. He is capable of producing a Kevin Love-like career. I’d take him as high as 6-10, but I’m sure he won’t go that high.

    2. Landry Shamet: He is smooth, polished, poised, and efficient; 49 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3. He can come off the bench and spell either guard spot. I’ve previously compared him to a smaller Kevin Martin, but I see a little bit of C.J. in him as well. I believe he will find his way into the rotation for a contender and will be on the floor late in big games.

No way, he’s got the wide hips that he’s not afraid to throw around, almost like Draymond from a rebounding standpoint. Ilyasova is easy to push around.

If you go by some mocks that have Brandon McCoy going late second or even undrafted. He outplayed Ayton head to head. He won’t most likely be a star, but I can see a solid starter in time. Very weird that a seven footer with his skill and production is so low in so many mocks.

Very interesting thoughts from y‘all! I definitely will take a closer look at Spelman, Shamet and Jerome Robinson!

Also excellent read from the OP and for sure one of the best reads I read here regarding sleepers and/or undervalued prospects heading into the draft! This is why I love this site so much – yeah!
