it’s not at all Trea Young, it’s Jalen Brunson!!

look at those crazy numbers 20ppg at 50/40/90 clip!!

while being great passer with great court vision and being best leader and thoughest player in the draft?

why no one talk about him? how the hell this site even put him second round??

from 50/40/90 onward. But he’s no Nash / Steph Curry hybrid (Captain Obvious take). Well….. come to think of it maybe I’d compare him to Nash on defense, because he’s not going to be very good at it in the pros. Ha

For the 30+ demographic on this forum, I see a little Rod Strickland and Terrel Brandon in his game. Less upside though.

He has a great chance to be picked in the 24-30 range for a team needing immediate PG depth. The kind of player who could play 12 years in the league

I’ve always seen a little Andre Miller in his game too. He has similar size lack of athleticism and a methodical pace to his game. He also plays with his back to the basket like Andre Miller did. He’s obviously a much better outside shooter and probably projects to be a worse defender but hey, no comparison is perfect.

I too compare him to Andre Miller but with 3pt range. I saw a YouTube video of Andre Miller posterising Theo Ratliff, so me must have had a bit of hops once upon a time.

Should get serious consideration from many teams in the late teens. The Suns (16), Bucks (17) and Hawks (19) all could use a high iq floor general like Brunson. Will be interesting to see if he goes higher then Shamet and or Simons.

I have Jalen Brunson compared to a Jameer Nelson/JJ Barea hybrid with shades of Derek Fisher. He doesn’t project to be a steph curry but a solid pro that can run a team.

If you are comparing numbers, here’s Steph Curry’s last year of college stats:

    28pts/4reb/5ast/2.5stl/0.2blk (6’3 185pounds)

    Here’s Trae Young’s college stats:

    27.4pts/3.9reb/8.7ast/1.7stl/0.3blk (6’2 180 pounds)

Will he be steph? Don’t know but the college stats and build are similar.

Where did you get those numbers from? Two of those four are false.

Agree that he’s a first rounder and has potential as a starter. Floor general, good IQ, leadership, Yes.

Overall talent and skill on an MVP level of Curry/Nash, Absolutely not.

I like him, that’s just a bad comparison though. I even like him over Sexton. He’s not the athlete Sexton is but Brunson has a lot more of the things I like in a point guard. If you take Sexton he has to be your top one or two ball handlers/playmakers to be effective, and if he is that on team, that’s gonna be one bad team. There’s too many talented players in the league. Brunson can be that 4th/5th option on a championship caliber team potentially.

I would be very surprised if he slipped to the second round

Brunson is a solid player, but lacks upside. 10 years ago he might have been a lottery pick. He’s like a Mark Jackson/Derek Fisher/Andre Miller type player. He’s just not the passer Jackson and Miller were. He’ll be a good back up PG for a long time. He’s just not a good athlete and will strugle against NBA athletes.
